Surging from the creative and inquisitive minds of Johnny and Leonel Cayamcela, two guitar-playing brothers, UNA VIA was formed in New York City. In 1998, they began their mission to assemble a contemporary rock group that would ferment the sounds of classic rock music that has always inspired them. After a few line-up changes, they finally succeeded in finding the musical chemistry to accomplish their goal. With Juan Pablo Calvo on drums and George Vivanco on bass, the rhythm section was solidified. Finally, in Mauricio Cardenas, the brothers found a versatile vocalist with the strong stage presence that they had always been looking for. Today, the members of UNA VIA are ready to launch their musical careers and to set their mark in the world of Rock n' Roll.In 2002, UNA VIA recorded its first demo titled Hasta el Fin with five hit songs that opened the doors for the band all over New York and New Jersey.In 2003 the band participated in the Queremos Rock Concert Tour an event sponsored by Heineken. They were also awarded ..1 best new band for three consecutive months in the following website: www.purorock.com.Opening for renowned Latin rock artists such as Tranzas and Cabas in Webster Hall en el 2004, opened many doors for Una Via and got the name circulating all over the local rock scene. Followed by a performance at SOBs, UNA VIA was offered to open the show for Zoë in the same year.UNA VIA is now promoting their debut CD, entitled Processed. In this album, the band shows how they have evolved musically since they started in 1998.
