Federico Dannemann

Started studying popular guitar with private teachers at the age of 9. Self taught in Jazz, he took an active part in the young Chilean Jazz scene of the '90s. Graduates in Music Theory at the University of Chile in 2002, winning a sholarship, three years later, to take a postgraduate course at the Royal Academy of Music in London in the Jazz Performance program. Takes part in the Chilean music scene, not only in Jazz, but also in Rock, Blues and Latin American styles. Has worked with: Francesca Anacarola, Cristian Cuturrufo, La Rue Morgue, Daniel Lencina and Andrea Tessa, among others. He has also lead his own projects as guitar player, composer and arranger. Currently co-leads the 13 piece band Quintessence. He was one of the finalists in the Gibson Jazz Guitar Competition at the 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival.
