About Me

Ann-Louise Liljedahl (b.1960) freelance musician and composer from Halmstad, Sweden.Singer, gitarplayer, and composer in the group Allis Trio since 1999, in the singer/songwriter tradition and world music. Other members in the group is Leif Isebring (bass, mandolin, bosoki) and Gibban Cham (percussion).Singer and gitarplayer in the group Beautiful Losers, performing texts and songs by Leonard Cohen. The exploration of sound art and experimental music began 2002 in cooperation with the painter Ann-Magreth Hägg. At a visit in the stone quarry Svarta Bergen in northern Skåne we made recordings and sketches of stones and this resulted in a Sound/Painting exhibition were the visitors could "listen" to the pictures. After this I have been involved in several mixed media art projects: Livets dans, 2004 (dance, poetry, video art, music made entirely with the voice). Arkipelag, 2006 Sound/Picture exhibition, in cooperation with Ilona Fintland. DYK, 2006 a surrealistic performance with sound art, drama and pictures, in cooperation with the author Angelica Ahlefeldt-Laurvig and the painter Ann-Magreth Hägg. CD - Samtal i äppelträdets skugga - sound art to a number of poems from the drama poetic production with the same name, written and performed by Angelica Ahlefeldt - Laurvig. Both book and CD was published in dec-2006.In the compositions Arkipelag I have tried to mix the word, poetry, song and sound art. The compositions can be described as ambient, sparse sound landscape with a slow down tempo, were the voice always is present with or without lyrics. Arkipelag (Archipelago) is a symbol for "the islands" in one's life. Memories and experiences create us to an archipelago. The name can also bring the thoughts to the sea with its deep and endlessness. I work with computer, my voice, sound sampling, and acoustic instruments. At the moment I work on a "Sound journey through seven centuries" together with the musician and composer Leif Isebring. This sound exhibition will be premiered during "Halmstad 700 years", 2007. I also write music to a Sop-Opera (Garbage Opera) commissioned by Halmstad Energy and Environment. The libretto is written by the author Inger Edelfeldt and the play will have its premiere in Halmstad, September 2008.Working award for musicians/singers from Konstnärsnämnden, 2006 Culture award to the group Allis Trio from Region Halland, 2006 Foto: Matts Halmerius och Mymmel Blomberg
