El Dopa are......not the American dance/hardcore oufit....but the more cuddly and fuzzy wurzel blues combo from Yeovil. The band is: Alan - Drums / Jon - Guitars & Vocals / Chris - Vocals and Guitar / Pete - Bass & Guitar. The band formed about three years ago whilst we were all helping Jon build a studio in his garden(Outhouse Studio). After building every night for about a month, we decided to have a bit of a break and cracked the guitars out for a jam. That jam became a practice at Al's house and that practice became a gig in Ben's Basement Bar in Yeovil. The rest as they say, is a mystery. We've been on a bit of a break from it for a year or so, being busy with other stuff etc...Jon knocked half his house down, and has been rebuilding it...Pete bought a house, knocked half of it down and has been rebuilding it....Alan has been working hard, developing his persona of 'Mystery Man', and Chris went mad. Having happily done all that, we have now started to get back into the music side of stuff. The songs we've included here are two old ones (Filament & Slow Boat - mixed by Mr Ed from Animal Urges) and two new ideas (Jon's Tune & Story - mixed by Chris in a blender). Since we've started again, the songs have been coming thick and fast and we are working hard on building the set and also looking forward to having a CD released for the Spring. We do have a confirmed date for Saturday 3rd March in Yeovil and we will keep the site updated with all the other gigs/dates we confirm for 2007.
