Born in Madrid, Spain on April 28, 1974, famed actress Penelope Cruz is one of the most famous Hispanic stars. At the tender age of 17, Cruz starred in her first theatrical film, Jamon, Jamon, alongside Javier Bardem and Jordi Molla. Since then, Cruz has appeared in more than 40 films, including the hits Belle epoque, Sahara, All about my Mother, Gothika, Abre los ojos, Blow, Vanilla Sky, and this year's Volver, which won Cruz her first Cannes Film Festival award for Best Actress.But Cruz's accomplishments don't lie solely with her acting abilities. She is also an accomplished dancer, having had 16 years of dancing experience, including 9 years of studying ballet at the Conservatorio Nacional. Cruz is also trilingual, having learned English and Italian in addition to her native Spanish.
