NCA is the oldest and LARGEST continuously operating national Black visual art organization based in the United States.NCA is the premier African American visual Artists Organization with national and international chapters. NCA was founded in 1959 as the National Conference of Negro Artists (NCNA), in Atlanta Georgia, Dean Sage Hall of Atlanta University. The Mutual Concerns for Art and knowledge included the improvement of skills, expression, interchange of ideas, exhibitions, survival and camaraderie. African-American Artists formed the nuclei of the ideologies from whence the National Conference of Artists was established.
