MISS BLUE

To truly succeed in music you must first find your own voice. You must look deep inside of yourself and seek out what you can bring to the table, what you can offer that no one else can bring to the art or the game. Open your soul like a book and let the people read it, and feel what you feel, see what you see, hear what you hear live what you live. She comes from Brittany in France, and brings with her a sound that is fresh and new but maintains respect and connection with the foundations of urban music, but with a twist. The twist is the catch here, a touch of the past, routed in culture, history. A celebration of liberty, creativity, diversity called Breizh Bass. Her name is Blue. DJ Blue is a professed disciple of the old school, or the true school as some call it. She is a true dj, a turntablist and mistress of vibe, energy and the dancefloor as we call it in English. Introduced to the sound of African drums at the tender age of ten, Blue soon took up playing the Harp. In her words “I’m a romantic girl, I need a bit of melody”. Her teenage years were spent on the streets dabbling in graffiti and discovering the musical artforms known as Hip-Hop, Ragga Jungle and Drum and Bass. Towards the end of her teenage years Blue began to dabble in music production and dj culture, an experience which has lead to the development of her own music style and formula. Breizh Bass. Breizh Bass is a synthesis between traditional Bretonese music and jungle drum and bass. An artform sparked off by Blue’s realization that the musical styles shared the same bpm, once again the dots were joined. As you may or may not be aware Breton is a true cultural tounge, one of the 6500 languages of the world with no real economic or domination qualities. Derived from the Celtic tounge, Bretonese represents the past and the culture of Brittany. Breizh Bass is about making a stand for the preservation of the Bretonese Tounge, and setting an example to people worldwide to hold onto their own cultures and past, to not let go of their heritage. To put it simply, what’s a jungle without it’s roots? Blue is fast becoming a well known face on the French music circuit and due to her unique cultural crossover style she is able to perform credibly at a wide range of events and productions. From festivals, to radio, television and nightclub parties, sometimes playing with musicians, sometimes djing solo, Blue brings her unique vibe and sense of mood to any situation, always niceing up the atmosphere or running the dance proper. In her spare time Blue enjoys Blueberry Muffins, dreaming about surfing, martial arts such as vietvodao, pakua tchang, yoga and having massages before mixing. Blue respects nature and enjoys day after day, always keeping her head in the clouds without any contradiction. A true souljah with real depth and purpose, don’t forget the name. Blue.
