Easy... films, films, films. I am consummed, obsessed, devoted, enraptured, and just basically a slave to film, film history, film culture, films full stop.I am a filmmaker so my days are consummed with either writing a new script, researching a project, or doing many things film related. As the writer & director for my production company I work hard and relentlessly as I just have so much I want to explore and say.Of course, I have other hobbies. Drinking, smoking, getting out onto the mean streets of Nottinghamshire for inspiration. I buy film stuff (I am not going to break it down as it is too time consuming); I exercise regular with weights, running and Kickboxing.
Hey, I'm just on here as a guy with something to say and bring a little happiness to whomever I get to meet.I want to meet like minded souls who are obsessed with cinema, from fellow filmmakers (people on the no budget route like me - through to guys who are playing with millions of dollars) as we are all of the same ilk. I want to meet film fans. People who want to share opinions.I also wouldn't mind hearing from people local to my area (we are an interesting species in Notts), right through to people around the world. Come on, let's just talk people!!!
Just for fun, here's the logo for my production company. Why not have it on here? That's the point isn't it?

Music, like my tastes in most things, is eclectic. I love everything from rock to pop, metal to jazz, hip hop to classical. And all the other wonderul types of music that defy classification. But, for ease and understanding, my three favourite groups/artists in the whole wide world are Motley Crue, Fun Lovin' Criminals and Alabama 3. Yes, in that order.I love each of these bands for many different reasons and they are in constant rotation on my MP3 player.
Ah... now this is the hard one. I could list a 1000 films here and still keep going, earmarking many more for various attributes. To give you folks an understanding of what makes me tick and the people and films that inspire me, here goes: Filmmakers: Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Spike Lee, Abel Ferrara, Jim Jarmusch, Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino, John Cassavetes, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Guillermo Arriaga, Sean Penn... the list could go on but this is a start... oh, I have to mention the greatest actor of our and anytime - Jack Nicholson. The man is an inspiration every time I see a film of his.Films: Taxi Driver, Annie Hall, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, 21 Grams, Manhattan, Casino, The Godfather (1 & 2 - do not get me started on 3), Get Carter, As Good As It Gets, Naked, Mystic River, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, Sideways, Hana Bi, Irreversible, The Big Lebowski, The Apartment, Citizen Kane, The French Connection, Vera Drake, Gladiator, Do The Right Thing, King of New York, Bad Lieutenant, American Splendor, Sweet Sixteen, Mona Lisa, The Pledge, Traffic, Bad Education... the list goes on and on! See I love cinema - and if that's wrong, I don;t want to be right!
Oh, now there is only one TV show ever to ever approach the greatness of many a movie. One TV show that is quite simply the best thing not only since sliced bread, but possibly the best thing ever. A way of life, a show that sucks you in and won't let you go. You people know what I'm talking about... THE SOPRANOS. nuff said. The Sopranos is one of the best things ever.Of course there's other cool stuff on TV (dramas, comedies, documentaries, etc), but The Sopranos rules.
To be honest, I am an avid reader who devours books. But, my reading habits are totally indiscriminate and I will read anything. On the whole I read a lot of film books, i.e. film history, biographies, journalism, screenplays, etc...I love to read non fiction books on crime, psychology, philosophy, religion, politics.Fiction writers I follow, well; Jake Arnott, Will Self, Dan Brown, Clive Barker, Stephen King, JG Ballard, Shaun Hutson... I read lots more fiction but don't attach too much importance to the author.
I'll get back to you on this one as it is a question for the age... philosophically and sociologically speaking.
