'The Beauty Of Grace Is That It Makes Life Not Fair' - Relient K

About Me

I enjoy life, in everything I do. I love to be surrounded by nature one minute and skyscrapers the next. I love the sound of rushing water or crashing waves, the sound of gulls or nightengales, the feel of fresh grass beneath my feet or sand between my toes - but I also love the unrelenting clatter of the city with people and cars rushing by at all hours of the day or night. I love the look of neon lights and grand marquees touting the name of the next big thing, with lines of people dressed in their LA best just waiting to get in to have take a peek, a listen and a shot of tequila. I live my life the best way I know how, with lots of laughter, lots of tears, lots of friendships and an abundance of love.

My Interests

Theatre, photography, crocheting, scrapbooking, jewelry making, singing, listening to music, cooking, hanging out with friends, concert going.

I'd like to meet:

People who are true to themselves. People who do their best to judge people on the things that count in life and not just the superficial. People who are secure enough in themselves to venture out of their comfort zones. Mostly though, I want to meet people who like to have fun and can carry a decent conversation about anything ranging for popular culture to foreign culture and the silly, arbitrary and mundane to the awe inspiring, magnificent and world changing.

Music:

I love to listen to music.

I'm a big supporter of a few "local" (not necessarily local to ME) bands/artists who are amazingly talented and are bound to hit it big soon... some are already breakin' in to the big time, so look out for these names: Luna Halo, 7k, Kevin Max, Richard Swift & Copper

Other local talented bands/artists I love to support and look forward to seeing where their talent takes them: Route7, Katie Herzig, Jeremy Lister, Melodee Lynn, Fielding, and so many more...

When I'm not listening to one of these bands I may be flipping around on the radio between many genres or listening to one of my Ryan Adams cds, some James Taylor or Elton John, a little Jeff Buckley, some oldskool movie soundtracks, WICKED! or another Broadway soundtrack or anything else from the unique to the trendy...

Movies:

80s & 90s classics, some great foreign and indie films, an occasional vintage classic and the blockbusters we all love...

All Time Favorites Include:
Pretty In Pink
The Lost Boys
Goonies
Sixteen Candles
The Breakfast Club
Some Kind of Wonderful
Josie and the Pussycats
X-Men
The Matrix
Spiderman
Batman Begins
Walk the Line
Crash
Amelie
Run Lola Run
Train of Life
The Legend of 1900
Memento
The Usual Suspects
The Rainmaker (1956)
Into the Woods (Broadway)
Then my run of Drew Barrymore romantic comedies:
Ever After
Never Been Kissed
50 First Dates
Fever Pitch
Music & Lyrics

Plus the tons I've forgotten to list...

Television:

24 - But I don't watch during the season - We get the boxed set each Christmas and watch the whole season during my hubby's vacation...

Other than that... I LOVE Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip - I will cry if it's really canceled and not picked up by another network. Heroes is good too. I watch House sometimes and we are currently watching Smallville from the beginning of the series - So far we're only about 5 episodes into the first season.

Books:

Let's see... I'm currently reading "The Lights of Tenth Street" by Shaunti Feldhan... then I'm going to read books 3-6 of the Harry Potter series. After that I think I'll try digging into The Brothers Karamozov by Fydor Dostoevsky (which comes recommended to me by a TON of friends who read a lot...)... After that, who knows?

Heroes:

Jesus, my mom and my Nana, my Ba-Chan & my Ji-Chan.

My Blog

A Portrait of Me.

So I've taken personality test before, many times.  Recently I took one and I must have been answering with my "work personality" (I have to play an authoritarian a bit, since I teach preschool) ...

Rest vs. Relaxation

So there is a common phrase "a little R&R" meaning "a little rest and relaxation"... but I have just come to the realization that, for me at least, the two do not really go hand in hand.  Hea...
