Wake up and find out that you are the eyes of the world.

About Me

The above clip is one of my bands, The Panda Conspiracy at Flowmotion's Summer Meltdown, with intro by Blake Lewis. I love creating music--I play trumpet and slide trumpet in a number of bands, mainly THE PANDA CONSPIRACY, Hotdish, Missing Players and The Mood Swings. IMPROV is life, music and otherwise. One of my favorite things is watching people laugh uncontrollably. I like abstract conversation over deep dark red wine. Love to travel but will always live in the Pacific Northwest. I don't mind getting soaked in the rain-no no I actually love it, especially love the El Nino season. I spend all day working for the biggest Biotech in the world-Amgen, making miracles out of little cell/antibody/reagent-xyz stew, trying to make the quality of our patient's lives better. I like eating oysters even though I don't LIKE oysters. I see the glass half full with complete intent on filling it to the brim and spilling it out all over the place. Oh, I also like that glass to be full with Elysian IPA.

My Interests

BIKE COMMUTING!!-I finally finished building my cyclocross and she's gorgeous! Hmmmmmm. . ..also PLANTS. . .totally in love with the complex biochemistry. Meeting people in Africa and climbing the trees there (esp. Mozambique with the Southern cross in my vision), writing, reading, trumpet, gardening, walking my two big pups Denali and Kenya, dancing on clear frosty nights to Simon and Garfunkel in empty parking lots, mud football (or anything muddy, really), riding my bike down steep hills at top speed, hanging in pubs while listening to some good music.

I'd like to meet:

Charles Shaw and Ayn Rand. Maybe the person who founded Glide Floss, also. HEMPFEST 2006!!!!

Music:

Mostly, creating the music (on various instruments). Other than that-INGRID JENSEN, The DOORS, Grateful Dead, Miles Davis, T. Monk, Coltraine, Gipsy Kings, Slim Gaillard, Daniel Barry, Maria Schneider, Bela Fleck, They Might Be Giants, THE PANDA CONSPIRACY, Missing Players and the SHINS

Movies:

I'll never shake it-Dead Poet's Society. After that, Drop Dead Gorgeous and A Waking Life. Yes, yes, and Fried Green Tomatoes.

Television:

Nah. Well, I guess CNN and Argentina soccer

Books:

Atlas Shrugged, Fountainhead, 100 Years of Solitude, Tale of Two Cities, Sweet Thursday, Cannery Row, Grapes of Wrath, My Name Is Asher Lev, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Jack Kerouac, Alice in Quantumland, Cry the Beloved Country, anything by John Knowles and Edward Abbey etc., etc., etc.
