About Me

Chris was born and raised in Nottingham, England and was first introduced to dance music through regular trips to Cream, Club U.K., and Atomic Jam. It wasn't long before he bought a pair of cheap decks and a mixer and spent his time when he wasn't out clubbing, holed up in his bedroom honing his DJing.
He made his first public appearance at Liverpool's Baa Bar in 1992 and, during his years at University, chalked up some experience playing occasionally at house parties, bars and clubs in Wolverhampton and Liverpool including infamous promoter Charlie Chester's now defunct Eden. Also during this time Chris started promoting Recycle - a small but popular Friday nighter in a function room above a Wolverhampton pub.
In 1996, having left University with an honours degree in Biomedicine, Chris decided to move to Prague in search of the Bohemian lifestyle and DJing experience. His first few months in the city were spent going from club to club giving out demo tapes, which lead to a weekly gig at Prague club Ujezd playing 8 hour sets on decks and a mixer he had to provide himself. After a few months the hard work began to pay off when promoters Lighthouse asked him to play some high profile events alongside Dave Clarke, David Holmes, Nick Warren and Darren Emerson.
At the beginning of 1997, Chris teamed up with the promoter of Klub X - Nigel Demon - and started playing at and co-promoting a weekly Saturday night session at the club again under the Recycle name. The night was a surprise success from the very first one and he played there weekly together with the top Czech DJs until developers closed the club in 1998. During this time Chris' name began appearing more and more on flyers for some of the biggest and best parties in Prague, playing regularly for large crowds and with such respected artistes as Josh Wink, Colin Dale, Derrick May, Luke Slater and even a special jungle set alongside Roni Size.
It wasn't long before Chris reputation spread outside of Prague and requests for his DJing began arriving from around the country. To date he has traveled thousands of kilometres criss-crossing the Czech Republic to play in virtually every town. Towards the end of 1997 Chris took over the Prague branch of dy-na-mix DJ booking agency which, back in the day under British legend Eddie Richards, was the world's first ever DJ booking agency. Whilst running dy-na-mix Prague he brought to Czech many of the UK's underground heroes including Charles Webster, Nathan Coles, Phil Perry, Eddie Richards, Malcolm Duffy, D.i.Y. and Richard Sen.
Top Prague club Roxy and the world renowned Radost FX began booking him on a regular basis and he continued to play extensively across the country and as far afield as Germany, Austria and Slovakia and on the bill with such DJs as Paul Oakenfold, Dave Angel and C.J. Bolland. Chris even experimented with promoting some more, throwing sell-out one-offs and bringing the talents of Kenny Hawkes, Ian Pooley and Pete Heller to Prague. The end of 1998 saw him start a monthly residency at Prague's Roxy for his Climax parties. He still resides over Climax at the Roxy to this day to what is often a capacity crowd, making it the longest running club night in the history of the Czech scene, a night described recently by the UK's Mixmag magazine as "the epicentre of a healthy funky house scene" in the Czech Republic.
In 1999 he made his first forays into music production, the result of which was "Take This" on the Trans-Atlantic sessions C.D. The year 2000 saw a white label release of Chris' track "Come", followed by "2 Fukt 2 Funk" on Beeswax Records, which, similarly to his official mix CD on Next Era , went on to sell out every last copy. Inevitably, this wasn't to be Chris' last time in the studio and he has continued to release a steady stream of tracks and remixes for various labels and compilations, culminating last year with the signing of his track "Attack Of The Grok" by Erick Morillo's highly respected Subliminal Records . This track is now awaiting official release.
Over the years he has consolidated his position as an indispensable part of the Czech dance scene, headlining events up and down the country, playing for crowds of up to 30000 people and with over 100 bookings each year. This popularity has been proven in numerous polls - 1999 saw Chris voted one of the three best DJs in the country by readers of Czech dance magazine Trip and internet site Techno.cz ; in the year 2000 fourth place in the Czech Dance Music Awards and in 2003 he was voted second place in the Technisco.cz DJ Of The Year poll. According to voters in the Czech Dance Music Awards for the last three years now Chris is the number one house DJ in the Czech Republic. Highlights include gigs in a skyscraper in Tokyo, a beach festival in Croatia, at Mayday Poland and twice at Creamfields CZ or alongside artistes such as Basement Jaxx, Deep Dish, Danny Rampling, Sasha or the Chemical Brothers. Chris is no stranger to radio either, previously co-hosting shows on radio stations Radio 1, Vox, Kiss and currently a Friday night show on radio Fajn .
In 2007, having established a faithful following, Chris' uplifting, funky and powerful house sound is more in demand than ever before.
