Married into film, born onto art. I am a friend, a father, a husband and sometimes called a hero. I was born to Renee L. Pettelle and Ronald P. Steckel March twenty ninth nineteen seventy six. I later adopted by Robert E. Frost during the nineteen eighties. Pettelle line spawned phenomenal artist and teachers whom taught me to become the artist and scholar I am today. Edwin Pettelle "Grandfather" (www.artontheavenues.org/artistinfo/epettelle.htm) taught me to use my hands to create and that art can never be "just finished". Renee L. Frost "Mother" showed me how to use the artist eye, to observe how the shadows and light caress the flesh as somewhat of a visual display of poetry. And, of course Kevin Pettelle "Uncle" (http://www.soulinbronze.com/) continues to show me that if you can dream it; you can recreate it through your art. I married Rebecca Pauline (Johnson) "my true love,soul-mate and best friend" August seventh, two thousand five. A woman I admire as a true artist she captures flickering images with her dreams and film. My dream of becoming a father came true when Oktober Marne' was born on Beltane (May 1st) two thousand seven. Each week with Oktober and the passing of Renee L. Pettelle reminds me of a qote used from the book of "The Sheltering Sky" by Paul Bowies ; Death is always on the way, but the fact that you don't know when it will arrive seems to take away from the finiteness of life. It is that terrible precision that we hate so much. But because we don't know, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. Yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember as certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps 4 and 5 times more. Perhaps not even. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps 20. And yet it all seems limitless. I take this in all to know that I too am moral, and to treasure the moments that you can spend with people. Although heart breaking it may seem that Renee and Oktober had never met I know my mother would have been proud that I carry her teachings well and continually hand them down to her granddaughter Oktober.
