About Me

My name is Frankie, and I am currently going to film school...I'm finally working towards my goal in life. And I really see it happening. One of my best friends, Mike, is going with me. We plan on having a full length film finished within a couple years.
I love Portland. I love my friends. I love my family. I am not an angry or hateful person...I am just very opinionated, and am not afraid to share my views. I don't read enough these days. I bartend, barback, cook and do the book keeping at Dantes. I am attending Northwest Film Center as of 2007. I love designer jeans. I like to play poker and shoot pool. I'll fight for any civil rights until the day I die. I aspire to be a unique and inspirational film director. I love film and music with an extreme passion. I think Led Zeppelin is the greatest thing to ever happen to music. I am basically a socialist. I love being 21. I love dressing up in nice clothes. I love Tool more than any other band. I am too self-conscience. I'd like to think I am a pretty likable guy. Radiohead is one of the greatest bands to grace the planet Earth. I buy too many DVDs. 'Children of Men' has done something to me that no other film has ever done...It is absolutely incredible.
"Here is my final point. About drugs, about alcohol, about pornography and smoking and everything else. What business is it of yours what I do, read, buy, see, say, think, who I fuck, what I take into my body - as long as I do not harm another human being on this planet?"-Bill Hicks (R.I.P.)
Who the fuck do you think you are do decides who can and who cant get married? And why the fuck do you care? Oh, because its a sacred thing? Bullshit. It's only sacred in a religious persons eyes. And first of all, religion should have no factor in anything that involves politics or government. That's one of the reasons we have the constitution. And that's the point of "separation of church and state", right? So...When do we take that part into consideration? As these measures pass, I watched America's "way of life" and our constitution get pissed on by over half this countries population. This day in age, you can get married in a fucking courtroom...Not very religious or sacred if you ask me. And if its so fucking sacred, why are divorce percentages over 50% now? Hmm...Doesn't seem very sacred to me if over half the people who get married these days DEFY THEIR RELIGION, AND GET A GODFORSAKEN DIVORCE.(Many current, and past, government officials who are "Christians", and are against gay rights, are divorced, or have been divorced. A contradiction to the core. Keep that in mind.) So...With that said, why should it matter if two guys or two girls get married? The only REAL answer I get ties back to religion in some way...Which is bullshit considering what I've already mentioned. The thing this country lives by...Or, sorry, is supposed to live by. The way I see it, being gay is like having a different skin color. You are born that way. You don't just wake up one day and say "Oh, I feel like having sex with guys now." No, fuck no, you cannot help it. It's not their choice. I know this, because I have seen it happen first hand. Some of them have a real hard time coping with it, and you assholes dont make it any easier. You need to accept people for the way they are. And stop hiding behind your fucking American flag, your corrupt politics and your fucking Christianity. Okay, take a second and think about this: How many guys can you think of that enjoy watching lesbian porn? Just about every one of them, right? Now, out of those guys, how many of them are homophobic, claim to hate gays or anything of the sort? Does that make any sense? If any one person fits both those descriptions, then they are the kind of person that ruin this world. So, get off your fucking high horse and face the facts; gay people are real. And there is nothing you can do to about it...Even going against what this nation stands for. Because you will see, Measure 36 will be appealed eventually. And everyone will have equal rights again.
Oh, and a big "fuck you" to Fred Phelps. You, and the whole Westboro Babtist Church. May you all rot in hell...If there is one. Nothing can excuse the things you have done, and continue to do.
"With, or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.-Steven Weinberg
"It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist is delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."-Carl Sagan
"Journalism is not a profession or a trade. It is a cheap catch-all for fuck-offs and misfits; a false doorway to the backside of life, a filthy piss-ridden little hole nailed off by the building inspector, but just deep enough for a wino to curl up from the sidewalk and masturbate like a chimp in a zoo-cage." -Hunter S. Thompson
"Even as a tree has a single trunk but many branches and leaves, there is one religion — human religion — but any number of faiths." -Mahatma Gandhi
Karma. Karma makes so much more sense to me than anything any religion out there can throw at us. Doing good for people is satisfying. And even more satisfying when you are rewarded in the end. I don't believe there is a higher power behind karma, I believe it has to do with the way this world was made. The things we do and say, change and control the way the world works.

My Interests

Friends and family are my number one thing in life.. Then there is film, going to the theater, music, poker, bowling, golf, drinking, hanging out downtown, tattoos, politics, reading, studying religions and philosophies, trying to write, photography, video editing, concerts, cooking, computers, designer jeans, architecture, web design, video/computer games...

..
I love tattoos. I only have one as of now(above), but I plan to get a bunch more. Thanks to Cam De Leon for creating such beautiful art. Thanks to Tool for introducing me to him. And thanks to Nate Hudson, the great artist who inked it, may he rest in peace.

I'd like to meet:

I like all the things in people that most people like. So I wont waste my time, or yours, saying what I like in a person. But, one attribute I WOULD like to point out that I like is people that let me do what I want...I don't like it when people judge me for drinking, smoking or anything I decide to do or try. Don't like it? Fine. But leave me alone, and don't get on my case. I consider myself a pretty intelligent guy, and I know when too much is too much, or what I really should or shouldn't do...Getting to the point; the only thing that has a chance of ruining my life is dumping all my money into film. And failing at it. Which I won'. So there. We're not gonna be here forever you know...I enjoy having fun, living life to the fullest and experiencing new things.

I do have one thing to say about attraction though: As much as some people disagree, physical attraction is very important. I hate it when people try and act like they only look for whats inside...Because thats bullshit, and everyone knows it.

Tricia Helfer is a breathtaking Canadian model. (Yet another reason to watch 'Battlestar Galactica.')

Music:

Tool. My favorite band. My musical idols. Best live show I've ever seen. It is so refreshing to hear Tool after having to listen to all the other bullshit out there. Most bands jump into the spotlight with their arms raised above their heads, while Tool stands fifteen feet to the right, and lures the spotlight to them. They don't need to stand out to be noticed...They're noticed because they stand out.

I've always wanted to sing, but I just cant. Maybe someday, I will gather up enough courage and just fucking do it. Until then, I will continue to be influenced by who I see as the best frontmen humans have ever witnessed:

Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver)
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, Solo)
Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, C.A.D.)
Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin, Page & Plant, Solo)
Cedric Bixler-Zavala (At the Drive-In, The Mars Volta)

My favorite bands/artists:
Tool
Nine Inch Nails
Led Zeppelin(R.I.P. John)
Pink Floyd(R.I.P. Syd)
Radiohead
Queens of the Stone Age
Thursday
Thrice
A Perfect Circle
Alice In Chains(R.I.P. Layne)
The Smashing Pumpkins
Refused
Between the Buried and Me
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam
Stone Temple Pilots
Rage Against The Machine
Cursive
Johnny Cash(R.I.P.)
Opeth
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Ima Robot
At the Drive-In
The Mars Volta
Darkest Hour
Clint Mansell

I like so many more artists...It's impossible for me to list them all.

GODS AND KINGS. Remember this name and logo...Because they will rape the Portland music scene in the next few years to come.

Movies:

Nothing I say can do this film justice. Just may be the finest piece of American cinema I've ever seen.

Leaping, leaping, leaping! Colonics for everyone! All right! You dumbasses, I'm a mental patient, I'm supposed to act out!" -Jeffrey Goines
Extremely underrated movie. Brad Pitt is fucking amazing. It is, by far, his and Bruce Willis' finest 2 hours in any film. ..

Television:

I don't watch TV. I either buy the DVD's or "aquire" them on my computer.
I blew it off for a long time. But after watching the first two seasons, it became my favorite TV show ever. After watching season 3, it proved itself even more by blowing the first two seasons out of the water. Fuck 'Star Trek.' Fuck 'Stargate.' Fuck the original 'Battlestar Galactica' series. This is utterly amazing. Yes, it's even better than 'Firefly.' And thats saying A LOT.
/nerdiness

Heroes:

I don't really call them "heroes", but they are people that have influenced me more than the average person.
My friends and past friends more than anyone...As well as my family...Especially my three amazing sisters, my grandpa, my dad(in some ways), my mom(in some ways) and my step-dad(in some ways). I could go on and say something I love and respect about every one of my friends, but that would take too long...Just know that I love you all, and if you ever want to know the specifics, just ask me.
Bill Hicks, Quentin Tarantino, Michael Mann, Charlie Kaufman, Alfonso Cuarón, P.T. Anderson, Darren Aronofsky, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Maynard James Keenan, Adam Jones, Danny Carey, Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell, Trey Parker, Hunter S. Thompson, Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor, Neil Strauss.
Bill Hicks was a genius. He was THE most intelligent, sophisticated, well-informed comedian who ever lived. He was more than just a comedian...He was a philosopher, a poet and an inspiration for many of the current comedians you may listen to. Check him out if you have never heard him. Rest in peace, dark poet. And thanks to Tool for introducing me to him.
Here are some of my favorite quotes from him:
"A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fucking cross?"
"Your denial is beneath you, and thanks to the use of hallucinogenic drugs, I see through you."
"Supreme Court says pornography is anything without artistic merit that causes sexual thoughts, that's their definition, essentially. No artistic merit, causes sexual thoughts. Hmm... Sounds like...every commercial on television, doesn't it? You know, when I see those two twins on that Doublemint commercial? I'm not thinking of gum. I am thinking of chewing, so maybe that's the connection they're trying to make."
"They lie about marijuana. Tell you pot-smoking makes you unmotivated. Lie! When you're high, you can do everything you normally do, just as well. You just realize that it's not worth the fucking effort. There is a difference."
"People ask me what I think about that woman priest thing. What, a woman priest? Women priests. Great, great. Now there's priests of both sexes I don't listen to."
