Well well well, how the fuck are you supposed to start this fucking thing? Obviously with a couple profanities if your names shaggy. Which it is. But not by birth though. Any narcotics my parents were into would have been in higher dosage when my brother and sister were born. So what I missed out on in the womb I made up for in my teenage years. Its weird, sometimes I still feel like a teenager. Anyway, I’m kicking around on the gold coast, Australia. One of the best places I have lived in my life. Despite the tourists it is still not unheard of to un-earth some of the beautiful people roaming the streets, calling this place home. Many of who, who have made my transition moving here from the small country town of New Zealand much much smoother. So here I am, still not sure exactly what path I must take, and who to take on my wild ride? But that is what keeps things exciting. I’ll take the red pill thanks, and see how deep the rabbit hole goes.….
Music music music! I love music. I have long believed that one of the most beautiful gifts on earth we have been given is music. Its in every culture, in every continent and everybody. People from completely different veiw points, religions, colours and creeds can enjoy the same song together, and appreciate the simple connection that we all share. You know the thing im talking about, when your really feeling a tune and you look up and meet someone elses eyes, no words, just that look of understanding. It is that moment that heals all judgement, creates a simple, profound and deep connection that breaks down any barriers that ever were. You know it. While i've never took it upon myself to pick up an instrument and breathe life into. I'm glad I'm still young, you never know? At least i have tried to spin a few people into a frenzy by laying some wax down and maybe create some of those moments for others to experience. i do like a shit load of genres but my heart will always belong to my motherland and the clean green funky vibes it continuiously crops up. The Black Seeds, Cornerstone Roots, Kora, Salmonella Dub, Katchafire, Trinity Roots, Fat Freddys Drop, The Illphonics, D Dub, Rhombus. Are all some sort of combination of dub, roots, soul, funk, reggae, jazz, dancehall, hip hop, electronica and just down right fucking groovy shit. I highly reccomend you to check them out.
