About Me

The Beginning: August of 2005, Illinois. Tired of band dynamics and drama a new idea is formed. A real band. Not the kind with image and cliché. With the first 3 songs, “Slogan”, “Catch of the Day”, & “Half Empty” written Johnny’s quest for the 2 possibly fictional affiliates is at hand. Inhabiting Seattle, Katie is found. The journey continues. As bassist and as his betrothed. Back to Illinois.
The Struggle: October 2006, Old friend. Andy; played, recorded, toured with The Angsted. Strenuous practice and scarce shows. Our 1st demo, “Fables & Fairytales”. Released on 4/20/07. Kelby McGee(seriously); filled in for 3 dates. He spontaneously imploded. There was a flash of green light. The only thing left was tiny globules on the drummer throne. Tired again. This time of small town & local scene politics. ODS splits. In search of the promised land. They find Utah. Leaving a 2nd demo, “Everyone Loves Leftovers” and a once great drummer in the dust of the Midwest.
Success! Missing piece found! Black Cat owner, Greg. Finally! A trio of fun, energetic children. Well two children and their wise grandpa. Okay grandpa is the most childish. But seriously…..

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: this one
Band Members: Johnny - Guitar, vocals
Katie - Bass, vocals
Greg - Drums

Influences: Adolescents, Against Me, Alkaline Trio, American Steel, Black Flag, Black Sabbath, The Broadways, Choking Victim, Circle Jerks, Crimpshrine, Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Lawrence Arms, Leftover Crack, Operation Ivy, Pansy Division, Propagandhi, The Queers, Ramones, Screeching Weasel, and Thin Lizzy.
Sounds Like: Minute & 1/2 reminders of what punk is instead of a battle of who has the most spikes, patches, and obscure band vinyl. Get over it. Everyone thinks their parents suck when they're a teen. Nobody likes their job. (Well maybe Greg). When you categorize and organize something it becomes a cliche and a stereotype. When you make a mold of something like a movement or a form of expression it no longers holds it's validity or ability to grow, explore, and evolve. Part of being an individual is thinking for yourself, but don't let us tell you that.
Record Label: you couldn't afford us old man

For Those Who Still Care About The Lyrics

Ship Of DreamsSailing from the distant past. Bursts of freedom I breathe at last. Pink above the clouds I feel. Dark blue below us it's our time to heal. Fresh air, no cares, sand, mountains, and boat...
