About Me

You have found Dub Nysus, a modern, rock influenced reggae band with soul coming out of the Baltimore area in Maryland. We came along way since we formed in August of 2004 and ending in late 2006. We were comprised of five members all merging out of prior bands and musical backgrounds to create our unique, grooving sound. The original lineup had been altered slightly since we changed drummers in May of 2005. Our good friend Andrew Cheng wanted to pursue other styles of music so we decided to move on and find someone who would fit in quickly. We found Cory Streett, an old buddy of ours who has brought the hard hitting rhythms that our newly evolved sound was craving. We also parted ways with our saxaphone player Cory Gilbert, once again, musical styles and what was best for the future of the band caused us to make a big decision. But from all the labor we had seen our shows getting bigger, more opportunities coming our way, and our fan base is growing at a rapid pace, all thanks to loyal fans and the team work that Dub Nysus prided itself on. Our goal from day 1 had been to create music that not only we would enjoy playing, but something that people can get up and dance to. We wanted people to have a good time coming to our shows and then come back for more. We had a hard working attitude and practiced constantly, adding new songs and perfecting our sound each and every week. The dedication of all five parts came together to bring you the songs that you all came to know and love. As of the fall of 2006 Dub Nysus is officially broken up. We played our last two shows, one at Johannson's and our grand CD release at the Recher Theatre, then went our separate ways. The members have regrouped and started new projects including Hot Box & Stood Up among others. As musicians, we all wanted to evolve and try new things, trying to keep the creative energy flowing into new projects. We thank all of our fans for those couple of years, it was a wild ride and we'll never forget all those times. Despite all this, it’s not completely over, our sound will live on. We have a limited number of our 2nd, and final studio album, fully mastered for our fans so get them while supplies last. We will keep this page dedicated to the music that we made and to all the fans that kept us rockin'. ** - the boys of Dub Nysus
