Get Your Own! | View Slideshow DJ Lale /Happy People, Beograd, SCG/ DJ, promoter, a odskora i producent Aleksandar Pavic a.k.a DJ Lale spada u onu grupu ljudi bez kojih se srpska elektronska scena nikako ne bi mogla zamisliti. Stil koji forsira u svojim setovima je engleski tech-house, sa primesama chicago funka, progressive, tribal i deep housea. Praktikuje dugu vo--nju, toliko dugu da je najidealnije re--enje "rezervisati” ga ne samo za party nego i za par aftera do kraja vikenda. Iscrpljujuce za bilo koga drugog, ali ne i Laleta, koji tvrdi da "baterije puni na ludi akumulator.” Uvek u "petoj brzini” --to se smi--ljanja provoda tice, on neprestano iznenaduje sve--im planovima i destinacijama za --to kvalitetnije partijanje: "Organizovanje --urki je sve zahtevnije”, ka--e Lale. "Publika je naslu--ana, --eli nova pomeranja. Nove ideje su bitne, zujanje je bitno – turizam & clubbing! I dalje ima pravih i dobrih vibracija, samo ih treba naci!” Osim "u vazduhu", gde je radeci kao JAT-ov stjuart od 18. do 21. godine obilazio svet, Lale je u post-tinejd--erskom periodu "dobre vibracije" nalazio i u klupskoj muzici. Najpre u Clash, Ramones, Stranglers, Tom Waits underground zvuku, preko Talking Heads ili U2 i Beasty Boys do funkadelic iskustava sa JB’s, Sly&famillystone, Georgom Clintonom, Maceom Parkerom.., sve dok u Londonu, 09. marta ’91., ba-- na svoj rodendan, nije naleteo na elektronsku muziku: "Odlazio sam na warehouse --urke. London i Beograd su uvek imali neku "underground" povezanost. Punk je posle 6 nedelja po--to se pojavio u Londonu kao pravac stigao i u Beograd. Tako sam sredinom ’92. godine, kada sam se vratio kuci sa pute--estvija, zatekao "zagrevanje" za ovo --to se sada de--ava. Integra i Kozmik. Pokojni Dejan Mirkovic a.k.a. DJ S.T.R.O.B. pionirski radi na --irenju elektronskog zvuka. Tu se okupljamo i postajemo mala, ali odabrana ekipa koja ima ne--to svoje, drugacije od ostalih. --urke privatnog karaktera lagano prelaze u klubove. Pocetak Industrije...” Pocetak pravog clubbinga, preciziramo. Od 1995. godine startuju prvi anga--mani po beogradskim klubovima. Iste godine Happy People zapocinje sa sopstvenim --urkama, stvara se profesionalna ekipa pod nazivom Happy People – United Youth of Belgrade, koja okuplja mlade i kreativne ljude i na razlicitim lokacijama organizuje veoma posecene "no limit" zabave. Znacajan uticaj na beogradsku elektronsku scenu izvr--ice i Happy People Shop. A sve je krenulo 10. februara ’94., kada je stvorena zamisao o dru--tvu sa ‘velikim osmehom’: “Sam Happy People krece kao najbolja ekipa za dobar provod. Muzika i umetnost u kombinaciji sa velikim osmehom – obja--njava Lale – “Nastaje shop u 45. bloku. Sve je bitno. Dobra muzika, dobar dizajn. Ideja je bila prezentovati umotvorine i rukotvorine (mixeve, ploce, unikatne majice, --e--ire, pajpove, priveske) i organizovati --urke sa puno dekora. Umetnicki deo radnje cine: Danko, Isidora, Ðovani. Muzicki deo: Srdan --ika Todorovic, Marko Nastic, Petko, Zmija, Raja, Proka i ja. Radnja je imala progresivan izgled i razmi--ljanje i za Evropu, a kamoli za brdoviti Balkan, pa jo-- 45. blok (kraj sveta), te su je ljudi u velikom broju zaobilazili. Nepoznato. Cudno. Glasno. Sa druge strane, ko se prepoznao, otkinuo je skroz. Klinci su krenuli da se kunu – "Happy People Shopa mi!". Godine ‘96., kao DJ team, gostuju po svim vecim gradovima Srbije i ex YU. Radnja se zbog finansijskih problema zatvara sredinom ’98., a HP nastavlja kao party organizacija.Najvi--e saraduje sa londonskom scenom (Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, Gideon Jackson,Dave Mothersole, Pure Science, Grant Dell, Richard Grey, Asad Rizvi...), mada ima i Njujorcana, poput Francisa Harrisa. Opsesija mu je fuzija zvukova, i to u--ivo – sa bendom! Preda--nji projekat Just Us nasledio je novi - Manù, koji je nedavno pokrenuo sa prijateljima: “Fuzija je cudo i bice nam ludo! Po mom mi--ljenju fuzija je buducnost”, zakljucuje Lale. ”Kombinacija --ivih instrumenata, ploca, semplera i efekata. Izademo pred svet i provodimo se. Sve je to improvizacija trenutka, zvuci kao sam "re--pekat". Mislim da je kvalitet presudan i da ce vreme to da poka--e. Sti--u novi klinci, mi im dajemo i predajemo na--e iskustvo. Mnogo je svega ukljuceno u na--u svakodnevnicu. Klupski --ivot jednog grada je jako bitan, treba ljudima da da prostor i vreme da se opuste, upoznaju i razmi--ljaju kroz dobru produkciju i da odu svojim kucama sa velikim osmehom, zadovoljni.” U vrlo bliskoj buducnosti Lale ce svojoj publici predstaviti jo-- ne--to i time ujedno izmamiti najlep--i osmeh - sopstvenu muziku kojoj je vec izvesno vreme posvecen sa ogromnim entuzijazmom. DJ LALE / HAPPY PEOPLE, BELGRADE, SERBIA/ DJ, producer and promoter Aleksandar Pavic a.k.a. DJ LALE is one of those pioneers we can`t imagine Serbian electronic dance scene without. His music style is blend of UK tech house and Chicago funk with a touch of progressive and deep house. High spirits, boyish looks and endurance hardly ever seen allow him to steer a journey so long, that it lasts till the end of the weekend, throughout a number of afterparties. He says he wouldn’t have it any other way, because he owes it to the crowd that loves him. Always in the fifth gear, he never ceases to amaze, setting the boundaries higher and higher. “Fresh ideas and pushing the limits is what really counts,” Lale says, ”tourism & clubbing! Good and genuine vibes are everywhere, you just need to find them!” Lale used to look for his “good vibes” in the air, circling the globe as a “Yugoslav Airlines” steward (age 18-21), as well as in the underground sound of The Clash, Ramones, Stranglers, Tom Waits, and afterwards, listening to a wide range of music, from Beastie Boys, Talking Heads or U2 to funkadelic experiences with JB`s, Sly & Famillystone, George Clinton and Mace Parker, until he tripped upon electronic music on his birthday, 9th of March 1991 in London. “ I was very fond of the warehouse parties. London and Belgrade always had this underground connection, even punk was played as a new music genre in Belgrade only six weeks after it was recognized in England.” Lale returns to Belgrade in 1992. Underground dance scene was already brought to being by late Dejan Mirkovic a.k.a. DJ S.T.R.O.B. - famous Integra and Kozmik parties. Small, but chosen crew gathered - the beginning of the legendary Industrija club… Real clubbing starts in1995. DJ Lale founded professional group of DJs and multimedia artists called Happy People – United Youth of Belgrade. They do their first gigs in Belgrade clubs and organize celebrated No Limits parties all across Serbia and former Yugoslavia. At the same time, new counter-culture got their own one-of-a-kind Happy People Shop (with Srdjan Zika Todorovic, Marko Nastic, Zmija, Petko, Raja and Proka) where everything could be found: from records, mix-cds, DJ equipment and accessories to fine artwork, hand-made and head-made, as Lale says. He uses experience gained in London, Ibiza for fruitful cooperation with foreign DJ artists, mostly London`s finest: Terry Francis, Evil Eddie Richards, Gideon Jackson, Dave Mothersole, Pure Science, Grant Dell, Richard Grey, , Asad Rizvi, and also New York`s Francis Harris, to name a few… One of Lale`s greatest obsessions is fusion of styles and genres while performing live with a band. In addition to his former project Just Us, he recently formed a new band called Manu, with first single released on promo-cd and tv video. Every time Happy People organize one of their well known multi-stage madnesses crowds can enjoy the Manu music, too. ”Future lies in fusion,” he thinks, ”amalgamation of sounds, records, live instruments, samplers and effects. It is all about instant improvisation, always sounds different, and it`s great!” All being said, it comes as no surprise that DJ Lale`s fans will soon be introduced to his solo project, new music he has enthusiastically been working on for quite a while…
