We have been living in London for 14 years and have recently returned to Melbourne Australia to chill, get fat, view life from the other side, try not to suffocate in the repression of a short fat bastard called HOWARD and... oh, yeah, challenge the corporate capitalist world, at least try. After completing our Undergraduate studies in Sound Art in London we decided to return to Melbourne to follow a pathway in Public art practice with an emphasis on socially engaged, subversive and context-led art both in and beyond the gallery and museum. This is not an easy task, as much of the time in & beyond rotate in difference & repetition and every other idiotic binary known to man.With a view to questioning the illogical pathway of consumerist designs and challenging the status quo of contemporay (art) dialogue, we are taking steps to create our own space to exhibit and present new sound, visual and conceptual projects with others...On the flipside.. We are also two halves of a very disturbed and dynamic djing team known as harrynjane.We spin anything as long as it tickles our and our pals fancy. We have been harrynjane for so long we've forged new identities and lost them again in the process. Probably better known for never taking it all very seriously (at least not all the time), falling into Aphex twin at our parties at Wang and asking him who he was?, and spending far too much time in Skopje playing house tunes and frequenting wickedly bad house parties. (Bad as in michael jackson). Our influences are many and continuous, - BP of PMG consistently cooks our noodle.In 2007 we are beginning a new adventure, an artist run initiative titled "589 PLATEUS". It aims to be a dynamic environment focussed on developing projects that shake the living hell out of neo liberalist cunts.We aim to conceive and develop ideas from every aspect of creative / political / social and contemporary sound and art discourse. All are welcome to be part of this venture. There is "NO" commitee or review board, all we ask is that you "challenge the "status" neo liberal "quo".The web has opened a fast and reflective connectivity, and so to all from all corners of the trans global environment, we invite you to communicate your ideas with us.We will in the near future post up a list of projects and invite tenders to "589 PLATEUS".Favourite music- Gay Italian house from the early nineties, the presets, cut copy..
