Ballyhoo! Myspace
Playing: Nov. 24th
Now Playing: "Cali Girl"
Hailing from Aberdeen, MD, these four guys have been cranking out the summer jams, mixing modern rock with punk, ska, and island music since 1995. From acoustic ballads to heavy rock anthems to tropical, reggae love songs, Ballyhoo! has always managed to stagger genres and keep the music fresh...No pidegon-holes here. Just good music with a positive vibe.
Since early highschool, Ballyhoo! has been sharing it's groovy hybrid of rock, reggae, and punk with all who will listen. With the help of their tour van they've named, "The Green Room", Howi, Big D, J Dirty, and Blaze have been touring the nation, coast to coast, spreading the music and drinking your beer.
They've sold 6,000 copies of their latest album, "Do it For the Money!", along with over 14,000 downloads on iTunes and Rhapsody. All this on pure grassroots word-of-mouth and a grueling tour schedule that's taken them from Maryland to California to Florida and even Canada!
Ballyhoo!'s song "Longshot" was chosen for a compilation CD by 98 ROCK Baltimore called, "Noise in the Basement". There were about 20,000 copies pressed and distributed throughout the Baltimore/Washington area. The song also held strong in the top 5 Rock category at Garageband.com for over a year.
The band is currently receiving airplay on several Mid-Atlantic commercial radio stations, including Baltimore's 98Rock, Philadelphia's WMMR, X106.9 Salisbury, and 105.7 WHFS.
The track "Last Breath" was released on WMMR's Local Shots Vol 1 in December of 2005, which was a best seller in several area Tower Records stores.
In 2006, their cover of Sublime's "40 Oz. To Freedom" was released on the latest Sublime Tribute album entitled "Forever Free, A Sublime Tribute". Other artists on the compilation include Voodoo Glow Skulls, No Use For A Name, and Ozomatli.
In July of 2006, Ballyhoo! went global with the release of "Do It For the Money!" in Japan with 2 bonus tracks, courtesy of Surf Rock International, which is distributed by Pony Canyon.
Look for the band's new song "Boner" on latest SENSE Boardwear compilation, "Diamonds in the Rough", released in March 200.
Ballyhoo! is steadily becoming America's favorite party band, rocking campuses such as JHU in Baltimore, Ohio State, Florida Tech, and more. If you're looking for a fresh and upbeat, melodic-rock sound, these guys will get you in the groove!

Do you have following in this local area? Or, will your fans travel the distance to see you?
These are not requirements. However, if we book your band and you don't bring a following - we have to base it on your performance and how well the local crowd liked you.
Do you love the local music scene? Do you want to help it grow? How about never paying a cover charge? Do you like free stuff too? Are you sick of answering these rhetorical questions and just want to know how to join?
