Medea Benjamin is Founding Director of Global Exchange . For over twenty years, Medea has supported human rights and social justice struggles around the world. She is a leading activist in the peace movement and helped bring together the groups forming the coalition United for Peace and Justice . She is also the co-founder of Code Pink : Women for Peace, a women's group that has been organizing creative actions against the war and occupation of Iraq. CODEPINK is pushing for a reorientation of budget priorities in the US to focus on heath care, education and housing, not war. Medea has traveled several times to Iraq and helped establish the Occupation Watch International Center in Baghdad.

Amy Goodman is the host of Pacifica 's daily newsmagazine show, Democracy Now! . She is an outspoken activist for community, grassroots media, travelling and speaking around the country and teaching workshops on independent media. She is the recipient of several awards for her work, including the 1998 radio documentary Drilling and Killing : Chevron and Nigeria's Military Dictatorship and Massacre: The Story of East Timor.

Naomi Klein is an award-winning journalist and author of the international best-seller No Logo: Taking Aim at the Brand Bullies. Naomi Klein s articles have appeared in numerous publications. She writes an internationally syndicated column for The Globe and Mail newspaper (Canada) and another for The Nation magazine (US). A collection of her work, entitled Fences and Windows: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the Globalization Debate was published in October 2002. Ms. Klein is a frequent media commentator and university guest lecturer. Shes a former Miliband Fellow at the London School of Economics and is presently the Freda Kirchway Fellow of the Nation Institute.

Dr. Vandana Shiva is a physicist, ecologist, and author. An outspoken anti-globalization activist, she has given talks all over the world on how globalization affects the the distribution and nutrition of the world's food and water supplies. In India, her home country, she established Navdanya , a movement for biodiversity conservation and farmers' rights. She is also the director of the Research Foundation for Science, Technology, and Ecology. Her most recent books include Stolen Harvest: The Hijacking of the Global Food Supply and Water Wars.

Arundhati Roy is the celebrated author of The God of Small Things and winner of the prestigious Booker Prize. The New York Times calls her, "India's most impassioned critic of globalization and American influence." She is the winner of the Lannan Award for Cultural Freedom. Her latest books are The Checkbook & the Cruise Missile, with David Barsamian, and An Ordinary Person's Guide to Empire

Angela Davis was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated magna cum laude from Brandeis University and pursued graduate studies at the Goethe Institute in Frankfurt and the University of California at San Diego. Acquitted of conspiracy charges in 1972, after one of the most famous trials in U.S. history, she has emerged as an internationally regarded writer, scholar and lecturer, speaking widely on the prison industrial complex. She's the author of Women, Race and Class and Women, Culture and Politics. Her latest book is Blues Legacies and Black Feminism. She teaches at UC Santa Cruz.

Eve Ensler is a prominent anti-violence activist . In 1998, she founded V-Day as an extension of her play The Vagina Monologues. V-Day is a grassroots movement to stop violence against women and girls by raising awareness and funds within local communities. Funds are raised through benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues staged at campuses and communites around the world.

Molly Ivins is a keen and trenchant observer of the American political scene. Her razor sharp wit and cogent writing have generated legions of fans. Based in Austin, her nationally syndicated column appears in more than three hundred newspapers. Her book Shrub: the Short but Happy Political Life of George W. Bush was a bestseller as is her latest, Bushwhacked.

Kathy Kelly is a three-time nominee for the Nobel Prize. She helped start Voices in the Wilderness , the Chicago-based humanitarian organization that delivered medical supplies and toys to Iraq.

Constance Rice , co-director of The Advancement Project , is known for her success in tackling problems of inequity and exclusion. She has received more than 50 major awards for her work in expanding opportunity and advancing multi-racial democracy.

George Galloway is a Respect Party member of parliament representing a seat in London. A 36-year member of the Labour Party, he was expelled after his opposition to the attack on Iraq. CNN called his May, 2005 U.S. Senate testimony, "a blistering attack on U.S. senators rarely heard in Washington." He is the author of "Mr. Galloway Goes to Washington."

Tariq Ali , born in Lahore, then a part of British-ruled India, now in Pakistan is an internationally renowned writer. He is based in London where he is an editor of New Left Review . At Oxford University in the mid-1960s, he gained international recognition when he debated international leaders like Henry Kissinger on TV. In 1967 he led 25,000 students in an anti-war protest at the American Embassy in London. A charismatic speaker, he is in great demand all over the world. In his spare time he is a filmmaker, playwright and novelist. Tariq Ali is the author of "The Clash of Fundamentalisms" and "Bush in Babylon." His latest books are "Street Fighting Years" and "Speaking of Empire & Resistance"

John Pilger is a leading journalist and documentary filmmaker. He's twice won British journalism's highest award, that of Journalist of the Year. His latest book is "New Rulers of the World." His documentaries are seen all over the world but rarely in the US.

Award-winning BBC investigative reporter and 2003 National Magazine award finalist Greg Palast is the author of The Best Democracy Money Can Buy. As a journalist, he has exposed some of the most egregious cases of political corruption, corporate fraud, and financial manipulation in the US and abroad.

Jeremy Scahill , an independent journalist who reports frequently for the national radio and TV program Democracy Now!, has spent extensive time reporting from Iraq and Yugoslavia. He is currently a Puffin Writing Fellow at The Nation Institute.

Dahr Jamail , an American, saw these problems of perspective clouding the reporting about the war in the U.S. media. He decided to do something about it. He went to Iraq where he reports outside the bubble of American control. His articles appear in The Guardian and The Nation.

David Barsamian is the founder and director of Alternative Radio , an independent, award-winning, weekly radio program produced in Boulder, Colorado. His interviews and articles appear in The Progressive, The Nation , Z and other journals and magazines. He is author of numerous books with Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Eqbal Ahmad, and Edward Said.

Noam Chomsky , internationally renowned MIT professor, practically invented modern linguistics. In addition to his pioneering work in that field he has been a leading voice for peace and social justice. I think he's fucking brilliant.

Michael Parenti is one of this country's foremost independent political analysts. He has taught at major colleges and universities in the US and abroad. Michael Parenti is the author of numerous books including the classic "Democracy for the Few," "Against Empire" and the highly acclaimed "The Assassination of Julius Caesar."
