SOME SHORT REVIEWS

“The beats here are thoroughly contemporary but they underpin a real soul-jazz soundscape. Its almost cinematic but very tasty – as indeed is the whole album”.
(Blues & Soul – Oct 06)

‘52nd Street’ is one of those infectious albums that literally crawls under your skin and point-blank refuses to leave. Enjoy with the Sunday papers and glass of something fruity.
(F Magazine - Nov 06).
‘..a pretty sassy, competent all-rounder’
(IDJ Magazine - Nov 06)

(Spiritual South)
"Played on radio and had a great dancefloor reaction"

The JAZZ JUICE sound originated as a bi-product from the successful collaboration between DJ Graham B and producer/musician Alain Eskinasi and their Edison Award winning work on the Electro Coco album "Coco do Mundo". The idea with JAZZ JUICE was to create a unique DJ set that was perfectly suited for musicians to play along side. The name of the act plus a major source of inspiration was a famous eight volume series of dance albums compiled by Gilles Peterson during the mid 80's. These albums featured a range of styles from Latin Bugaloo, Bossa Nova and Soul Jazz and are recreated in the JAZZ JUICE sound mixed in with contemporary beats and styles that together have been described as "futuristic dance-floor jazz".BIO's OF THE PRODUCTION DUO.

UK born DJ Graham B moved to Amsterdam in the late 1980's and has played an influencial role on the Dutch dance scene. A pioneer of the early house movement he was later dubbed 'Godfather of Jazzdance' by the dutch press for his promotion work and hugely successful Club 802 Jazzbop parties at Amsterdams famous Paradiso. Graham has collaborated with many talented musicians on various projects over the years including the setting up development and production of the New Cool Collective (also on Freestyle Records).

Alain Eskinasi(keyboards, guitars, grooves) is a dutch born composer who has been producing music since the late eighties, and has cooperated on about 50 cds (20 of his own). During the nineties he worked as a staff-producer for Virgin Records and co-founded top stateside smooth jazz outfit Third Force. His work received a Grammy nomination on a production with guitarist Craig Chaquico, and was used in Films & TV series.(Sex & the City, One hour Photo) Alain is also a video artist, animator and VJ as shown in some of the Jazz Juice video's and shows.
