Senior year already for the young 18 year old multi-talented entrepreneur Joseph L. Martinez or better known as the phenomenon, “Young’ J.”, which can only mean one thing? Fast cars, hot chicks, and high school….. right? Well, not exactly. As age 18 was presented on November 3, 2007 to the South Texas heavy weight, life for this young star has barley begun. The outcome to these years has lead to struggles, loss, death, love, parties, the good life, and everyday situations which everyone is faced with no matter what the position or state they’re in.
Young’ J aka “Texas’ Finest,” the name given to him by his fans, was born in the city of, Corpus Christi, Texas, hometown to R&B Singer "Paula DeAnada" & other Latin artists as well. But around age 3 he moved from his establishment, to a smaller city in South Texas (the Rio Grande Valley - R.G.V.), Brownsville Texas, which is now a very rapidly growing city. The young artist grew up accommodating new influences around him as he was very open to just about anything. Although, everyone knew how great his passion for music was and how well he expressed it. In his younger years, he would perform in musical talent shows, as the audience would just watch in amazement with the amount of talent the young boy had on stage.
Once he hit age 15 in high school, music was all he knew. With his great amount of passion and knowledge for his music he began to work and work and learn more about recording and mixing, as he studied and expanded his knowledge with music and production. The artist didn't want to just do music, he wanted to involve as much as he could, as he also studied photography, promotions, web designing, and business. With all these new ideas brought to the table, it would be long before he would start getting everything together. Then in 2006 he began to form his company, "Unstoppable Entertainment" as he began recording tracks in his studio, which were featured on underground mixtapes.
When the first CD was released, the young artist sold well over 500 copies in just one week. Basically putting his music and business skills to the test, where he studied how to gain his fans in the streets. Money began to roll in soon after, as he would then upgrade his equipment to something far superior than before, as there after he recorded his first single, “Club Thang,” which appeared on local radio stations, such as Wild 104.1 and 96.1 The Beat. DJ’s at the station proved on air that the young artists single was a smash hit as listeners called in and requested the single making it the Summer Hit, but the young artist still had more to prove down his future road to success.
Now at age 18, with all of Young’ J’s thoughts and ideas becoming a reality, a more versatile and professional artist will emerge proving that his movement has just begun. Leading to this will include the new 2008 mixtape, “The Moment of Truth,” which is the prelude to the future album, “Texas’ Finest.” “The Moment of Truth, will be one of my hottest releases, this is what I'm about, this is me, music is me… everyone has they’re moment in life to be something, and this is my time to shine.” “The Moment of Truth,” will release this 2008, stay tuned.
