Disrupting domestic tranquility with supernatural forces at the helm since 1973

About Me

John Leon was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1973. A third generation musician, he started playing guitar at age eight. As a teen, he played in a number of post-punk/new-wave bands and toured regionally in the deep South. In 1998, John relocated to Austin, TX, where he began studying pedal steel guitar. Since then, he has been an active session player and has worked as a side musician for artists such as Trish Murphy, Abra Moore, Brent Palmer, Calvin Russell, Shane Bartell, Jenifer Jackson, Billy Harvey and many others. In 2003, John co-founded The Summer Wardrobe, a psychedelic soul, ambient southern rock inspired pop band that signed with New York label Rainbow Quartz in 2006. Their debut record was released in the Fall of 2006 and they are currently working as backing band for the legendary psychedelic rock pioneer Roky Erickson.Aside from music, John enjoys cycling and reading. He is terrified of being struck by lightning.
