Engrave the Most Holy Image of Christ on Your Hearts
About Me
I was one of the women of Jerusalem who wept for Our Lord on His journey to crucifiction. When he fell, I wiped His face with my veil. The cloth was imprinted with the image of Christ's face, and has since be reveared as The Holy Vernicle, from 'vera icon' or true image.I bore the relic away from the Holy Land, and used it to cure Emperor Tiberius of some illness. The Holy Vernicle was seen in Rome in the eighth century, and was translated to St. Peter's in 1297 by command of Pope Boniface VIII.The Holy Vernicle is still preserved in St. Peter's, and the memory of my act of pity and love for Our Lord is commemorated in the sixth of the Stations of the Cross.
