I am Saint Erasmus better known as Saint Elmo. An original member of the 14 Holy Helpers and also Bishop of Formia, Italy. I was persecuated for my beliefs and was martyred by disembowlment.
An electrical weather phenomenon known as St. Elmo's Fire was named by early sailors to recognize a time I continued my sermon after a thunderbolt struck right next to me.
Hence my patronage includes sailors and people who suffer from intestinal and colic disorders.
