About Me

Get Your Own! | View SlideshowIt's so hard to sum up your life in a few words. I really am a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Devoted husband to Rai, loving father of EZ, Kendi, and Tae, caring son of Kay, Staff Pastor @ Total Grace in Atlanta, Episcopal Assistant to Bishop Alvarado, seminary student, still young enough to think I can change the world, but old enough to know I may have die doing it. I'm a pretty hard-working brother with a lot of ambitions for the future. I have had a lot of high highs and low lows and have a few scars left over, but I thank God everyday for the wild ride I have been on. Here are a few of my friends (also known as people I have actually met and like.)

My Interests

Here are some things I really love. I love going to the park with my wife and kids and having a picnic with some turkey subs from Publix. I also love walking around IKEA with my wife while our two oldest kids play in the PlaySpace. I love watching Ultimate Fighting Championship - my favorite fighter is Matt Hughes (www.Matt-Hughes.com), but I also like Chuck Lidell, Tito Ortiz, and BJ Penn (Old School Fighters - Bas Ruten & Royce Gracie). I enjoy following world affairs pretty closely. I love studying and researching African American history.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

I don't really listen to much music anymore, but use my MP3 player to listen to a lot of audiobooks from Audible.com and different podcasts - like Barack Obama, the Catalyst Podcast, Mosaic, Meet the Press, FitCast, Rob Bell from Mars Hill, Tavis Smiley, etc. I have actually had a Boost for Breakfast and Ensure for Dizert...so if I can relate to any song/video, after coming a few breaths away from death myself, it has to be Kanye West with,Through the Wire

Television:

I cannot believe that the world really existed before TIVO. Really though, I kind of quit watching TV before I got a DVR 3-4 years ago. Books:

Hmmmmm...I listen to a lot of audiobooks from my Audible.com subscription to get my book fix in. I really love it. I read a lot of books for school that I honestly would probably not read if they weren't required. Here are the best books I have read recently: - Wild at Heart by John Eldredge, -Chasing Daylight by Erwin McManus, -Big Russ & Me by Tim Russert, -Dreams from my Father by Barack Obama, - My Life by Bill Clinton, The River of Doubt (This is about an amazing journey taken by Teddy Roosevelt), -Dispatches from the Edge by Anderson Cooper, -On Writing by Stephen King, -America by Jon Stewart, -Scrawny to Brawny by John Berardi. Here are those and the other books I have enjoyed in the past year or so. I would recommend all of these:
