MY NAME IS STEVE. I LIVE IN THE BEAUTIFUL CLEVELAND SUBURB OF PARMA WITH MY PARTNER ANDY.I JUST STARTED A NEW CAREER AS A NURSE. I AM BOTH EXCITED AND ANXIOUS ABOUT THIS TRANSITIONAL STAGE OF MY LIFE.MY MOTHER'S MATERNAL SIDE OF OUR FAMILY SETTLED IN CLEVELAND AT ABOUT THE TURN OF THE 20TH CENTURY. MY GREAT GRANDFATHER AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER IMMIGRATED TO CLEVELAND FROM WARSAW, POLAND. SO, I HAVE DEEP FAMILIAL ROOTS HERE.I AM A PRODUCT OF CLEVELAND'S BLUE COLLAR INDUSTRIAL BASE...MY FATHER, GRANDFATHER, AND UNCLES HAVE ALL WORKED IN SOME INDUSTRY IN THE CLEVELAND AREA........................................................ I AM AN EPISCOPALIAN.....I HAVE A STRONG FAITH IN GOD AND MY CHURCH TEACHES ME TO QUESTION THINGS EVERY DAY WHILE I AM ON MY JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE. THE GOOD LORD GAVE US THE CAPACITY TO REASON AND WE SHOULD USE THAT GIFT THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES. TO ME, HAVING STUDIED AMERICAN HISTORY, THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH EMBODIES WHAT AMERICA IS ALL ABOUT....INDEPENDENCE, DEMOCRACY, AND EQUALITY....IT TEACHES ME TO NOT LEAVE MY MIND AT THE CHURCH DOORS, TO EMBRACE THE DIFFERENCES AMONG US, TO "STRIVE FOR JUSTICE AND PEACE AMONG ALL PEOPLE, AND RESPECT THE DIGNITY OF EVERY HUMAN BEING". ============================================================ ============================================================ ========================================
