Poet & Designer wondering in spaces of the world

About Me

I would say I'm at odds with being humble and having a lot of hubris...which I think comes from the fact that I'm a Cancer/Leo cusp.
I was born & raised in southern Virginia in July 1970, then moved to Washington, DC in 1994 to pursue la vie de poet. After spending two years in George Mason University's Masters of Fine Arts program, I followed my life in a non-academic environment, winding up working as a govt wonk. But to mend that tedious existence I started doing fre /elance web & graphic design.

In 2003 I self published my first collection of poetry, God in Flight. You can find out how to order it through my web site at www.poetblu.net (as well a bit more about me and my work).

A Case of Poetic Justice. Literally.

My Interests

Poetry, Dance Music, Music in general - a good song will get me not matter what genre, Writing, Reading, Wicca, Neopaganism, Buddhism, Walking, Museums, Philosophy, and of course the end of them all politics.

I'd like to meet:

First off, friends and other artists to share things with. Seems that's what I've been missing quite a lot --- the enthusiasm of creativity...
Also, it would be nice to meet a guy with similar interests in entertainment, literature, spirituality, and and living --- someone who is at ease in the emotional roller coaster of life.

I generally go for Latino, Middle Eastern, or Asian guys who are slim or athletic physically but have a "down to earth" quality.

If you're none of the above??? Well I like dark haired guys.... At least that's what I tend to notice when I'm out and about wondering the world.

March 17, 2008 Update

I just completed my first ever remix video: Kristine W "Feel What You Want" (poetblu's Kerri Chandler Video Remix)

Your Personality is Very Rare (INFP)
Your personality type is dreamy, romantic, elegant, and expressive.

Only about 5% of all people have your personality, including 6% of all women and 4% of all men
You are Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. How Rare Is Your Personality?

Since I was born on July 22, a cusp date, I'm both Cancer and Leo. See what percentage of me is Leo and what percentage of me is Cancer. If you know me, you'll be able tell.

You are 60% Leo

You are 60% Cancer
How much do you match your zodiac sign?

Your Candy Heart Says "Get Real"
You're a bit of a cynic when it comes to love.
You don't lose your head, and hardly anyone penetrates your heart.

Your ideal Valentine's Day date: is all about the person you're seeing (with no mentions of v-day!)

Your flirting style: honest and even slightly sarcastic

What turns you off: romantic expectations and "greeting card" holidays

Why you're hot: you don't just play hard to get - you are hard to get What Does Your Candy Heart Say?

Your Birthdate: July 22
While sometimes employing unorthodox approaches, you are capable of handling large scale undertakings.

You assume great responsibility and work long and hard toward completion.

Often, especially in the early part of life, there is rigidity or stubbornness, and a tendency to repress feelings.

Idealistic, you work for the greater good with a good deal of inner strength and charisma.

An extremely capable organizer, but likely to paint with broad strokes rather than detail.

You are very aware and intuitive.

You are subject to a good deal of nervous tension.

What Your Soul Really Looks Like
You are a warm hearted and open minded person. It's easy for you to forgive and forget.

You are a grounded person, but you also leave room for imagination and dreams. You feet may be on the ground, but you're head is in the clouds.

You believe that people see you for how you are, not how you look. But deep down, you know that's not exactly true.

Your near future is still unknown, and a little scary. You'll get through wild times - and you'll textually enjoy it.

For you, falling in love is all about the adventure and uncertainty. You can only fall in love with someone who keeps you guessing. Inside the Room of Your Soul
Take the Which Madonna video Are You Quiz.

You're more intelligent than 90% of the people you interact with. Academic and witty, you are an avid reader and thinker. You are artsy-fartsy and creative, and you have been or will be deeply inspired by the book, "Memoirs of a Geisha" and are fascinated with oriental culture and history. Many write you off as a geek, but don't listen to them. You have trouble relating to the "club-scene" and want a partner who's interested by the same topics as you. And remember: love is all we need.
