I'm interested in people. We're all a compilation of our experiences and the things we've learned either from others or on our own. I'm interested in genetics and how iniquities are passed on in the bloodline and because of that, you see the same issues in families generation after generation. I'm interested in the phrase from Matthew 7 "...many are called but few are chosen." signifying that being born again isn't enough - once you have it, you need to DO something with it in order to fulfill your purpose for which you were born.
Honest, fun loving people from the western United States who love to laugh and ARE NOT TOO SERIOUS and who have a hunger for the Word of God or maybe just would like to ask me some hard questions about God. I'll do my best to show you the answers from His Word.
All time favorite song - I've always loved Aerosmith's "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" but Mark Harris's new song "Help You Find Your Wings" is my new theme song for my life dedicated first to my awesome kids and then also to everyone whom I've ever taught the Bible to over the years - Can't live without James Blunt's Goodbye My Lover and You Are Beautiful - I also love Aretha Franklin's "I Will Survive" and "Hold Onto the Night" by Richard Marx!MY NEW THEME SONG IS "STAND IN THE RAIN" BY SUPERCHIC[K]...
I love most music (and dancing!) - country, pop, soft rock, Christian pop (Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, Chris Rice, Jeremy Camp), classical, and some hip hop - no trashy stuff but danceable - no heavy metal or polka stuff...
Favorite movie of all time is "Silence of the North" and was never even put on DVD - sigh - I'm a major Star Wars fan and LOVE all kinds of movies - drama, action (love Jet Li), comedy (Taxi cracked me up and my whole family speaks 'Napoleon Dynamite' now - freakin idiots - GOSH!), and generally can get into a good scary movie. Movies move me and I love a good love story - Lake House, need I say more? - they keep me believing just maybe it could happen.
Gilmore Girls is like a slice of my life except only my youngest son is left at home - some Discovery channel and National Geographic stuff - Numbers is awesome, CSI is thought provoking and the Miami one is filmed where one of my daughters live - Family Guy once in a while and My Name is Earl because Jamie Pressly is so dang funny
After God, I guess Steve Patterson tops my list of favorite authors. For study purposes, you can't beat Dr. Dale M. Sides - his latest book, "Will You Make It Or Miss it? The 1000 Year of Jesus Christ on The Earth" is second to none and an absolute MUST READ for Christians who think all Christians are going to the same place eventually...You can find this one and others that he's written at their website, LMCI.org One of the best fictional books I've ever read was "The Education of Little Tree" by Forrest Carter. I also read dictionarys for fun and enjoy medical books and astronomy. Absolutely LOVE poetry and have just begun studying quantum mechanics (no really, I mean it! string theory rocks)
Solomente Jesuscristo, the only man who never lied to me...
