..Well let's see~About me.... I had a eye opener this morning (10/21/06). I realized that I do not have a life outside of work and helping others. I currently am a development specialist which I have many clients in many different fields as their Executive Director Consultant. I create structure and organization of companies, music artists, promoters and programs. I create customize strategies to have the company or artist reach their goals and expectations and handle all development, marketing, promotions, negotiations, contracts, legal matters, compliance, publicity and more. It is fun but keeps me busy and a little out of touch with people outside of those who I work with.Then I had another eye opener, which was that if I am not doing something productive in the business industry, then I am extremely bored so this myspace has become both personal and business it seems.Even though, I started this myspace for my personal use, I have been meeting so many individuals in the music and entertainment business who are in need of my services.I am proud to say that I have been recognized by many people around the world for being good at what I do when assisting artists in the music industry to achieve their goals. I pride myself on being extremely honest and dedicated to those I represent since the music industry can be very complex and somewhat dishonest. I protect my clients and always make decision with them in the best of their interests.Unfortunately, there have been many excellent up and coming artists that could not afford my services since worldwide promotions is very costly. Yet, It brings me great pleasure to announce that my company just got a huge contract to develop a world wide program that will assist up and coming artists, producers, sound systems( DJ's), songwriters, videographers, screen play writers, and much more. Currently, we will be starting with the starting with the reggae and hip hop genre and will then expand. This program provides professional representation for a fraction of the cost, I am honored to have been chosen to develop this worldwide program to assist those with making their dreams a reality.
On a personal note since this is my personal myspace, here is a little background about me.I am usually working all day, everyday because it is fun to me, so I wanted to take time out to have some "me time" so I figured I would create a myspace so people can see a little of Christina other than the one who is always working.
My most commonly asked questions is "WHAT ARE YOU?" So, to give you a little background on me, I am Spanish Moroccan (Sefardim) and Latin Egyptian (Calabrese) yet I am a US Citizen. Grew up in Jersey, then ventured off to Florida and found a part time home in Jamaica which is a HUGE part of my world. I am definitely Jamaican in my heart not by blood even though my family has ties to Jamaica but I love my exotic North African Southern Mediterrean heritage.
I first attended the university to become a Homicide Investigator for the FBI, that was my dream when I was younger, then somehow, I changed to education major. I was hired by a company to teach people from other countries to speak English and then realized, but after doing that for a while, I realized that I was more of a business woman since I have grown up with most of my family having their own businesses. So I started my own business with many divisions. I opened a school, had a business solutions division, marketing and advertising, public relations which led me to become a Development Specialist. I would assist people who wanted to start and manage their own business and then I started getting many clients in the music industry such as singers, promoters, radio stations, etc. I love helping new and established artists by getting completely organized and structure unique plans to make their professional and personal dreams a reality as their Executive Director. I of course do this for businesses as well who have a product or service but just have that special love for the Reggae Music Industry.
I used to be a radio personality and the Executive Director of Riddim 96.9 which was a Jamaican radio station before it was sold. I had so much fun there and all of us at the station really made a difference in the community. We had this talk show called "Community Open Line" where me, DJ Ques, Omar the Tzar and others would have such a great time and everyone loved the show. All of the DJ's (Selectaz) are great and I love them so much like my big brothers. Those definitely were the days.
At that time, I had a non-profit organization as well, where I would have community forums, educational seminars, teach English to foreigners, and mentor kids at risk. We had an advocacy program where I would defend people's rights especially minorities who were falsely accused of crimes. I am very proud of two particular cases in the US that I assisted with from the beginning which was a Jamaican man in the US who received 16 charges and with my assistance in his case, got 13 charges dropped and two others are still pending but may soon be dismissed. The other case is also a Jamaican man who the world will soon learn more about, who was facing severe charges and with my assistance received only two years with credit so he only served 10 months instead of a life sentence. I can do a great deal when I get involved from the beginning, yet I do assist with clearing innocent people once they have been convicted which leads me to how I met Siccaturie Alcock.
While on the radio one day during our show, Tzar mentioned about a man in Jamaica who was convicted of rape based solely on the fact that the girl said that he sounds like the man who did it, there was no other evidence. So, I looked into the case more and also learned that he was an up and coming reggae artist; Jah Cure. I felt like this was a case where my advocacy program could assist and thanks to Bobby Chin of Black Chiney and Jah Vibes, I was able to do so. So for the past two years plus, I have dedicated my life to let the world know about what was done to this innocent man. He and his family are great people who do not deserve this. I can prove he is innocent without a doubt and will one day clear his name to the world.
Back to business projects that I have had the honor to be awarded the contrat for. My company was contracted to develop the new nationwide business support and resource program for the entire country. It is called the SUN Support & Resource Program and I also developed the new online directory for the Palm Beach County area which features area owner operated businesses; www.servicesuneed.com.I have a new project coming soon which will be developing the Minority Contractors Association for the entire state of Florida.
As you can see, I am very versatile in the fields of business. As long as it is business and productive, I can assist to help any business, artists, or project grow to its fullest potential.So these many projects and my clients within the music industry have really kept me busy and hidden away from the world, so "All work and no play, makes Jane a dull girl." I really do not want that, so, here I am with my myspace which is step one.
I love meeting people and making new acquaintances, so that is why I am here. Almost everyone I know right now is through business, so it is time now to live a little a meet some positive people outside of work.
