Welcome to the Phantomgrave
Godüs was born in 2000 as a project between members of Nüll and Wormed. The formation was: Phlegeton -drums, V. Brown -guitars and F. Trych -bass guitar, and, actually is still the current formation. Months later, Abraham joined the band as vocalist.
From 2001 to 2003 the band plays several shows and record the first demo: "Demo 2003" This was recorded with two dynamic micros and one minidisk in the rehearsal local. The engineer was Andy C. The demo had a good welcome in the underground scene and presents a band as one of the most violent musical proposals of the underground. In 2003, Godüs had 7 songs composed and ready to record. The intention: play the entire set, live in the new rehearsal local, with Mantis Studio's equipment. In one day, the band registered 16 takes and chose the definitive tracks. Days after, Abraham did the vocals record session. Almost, one year and six months passed, from the end of the record sessions, to the release of the CD on 2004.
Dave Rotten, the owner of Xtreem Music, received a copy of the record that was still incomplete, but, he liked the music and made an offer to the band. The Band signs the contract and finalised the mixes and the artwork, and "Hell Fuck Demon Sound" was out. Since its release, "Hell Fuck Demon Sound" was a bomb. The evil artwork and the direct and raw tracks provoked a strong reaction on the underground scene. The record obtained very good and bad reviews. There was no medium point: People hate or respect Godüs.
While, the band continued with its work, played more shows (including a TV show on TVE with the Black Metal band Infernal) and composed three new songs for the new demo CD. For the members, release demos, let the people check the status, the creative work and the evolution of the songs before the entering in the studio. On summer 2004, the vocal sessions for the second demo started with musical differences between Abraham and the rest of the band. After the separation, the band starts to release, singing, playing and recording the new songs.
On 2005, the second Demo entitled "Punishment is necessary".
It was self edited and recorded live again, in the rehearsal local. With three
songs, 20 minutes of during time and three different voices. This demo was
recorded with Mantis studio's equipment and was produced by Godüs. The demo
obtained good reviews and helped to consolidate the new formation of the band.
The sounds changes and shows a dark and twisted performance, more intense,
fast, hateful and with a more technical execution. On 2005, Godüs suffered
a forced stop, due to the difficulty to rehearsal. The jobs and parallel projects
are resting rehearsal time and the band decided to try with a new vocalist.
The search starts and ends with Ebola, from the Black Metal band Cryfemal.
The band back to the rehearsals and Ebola starts to sing with Godüs. The result
is a killer and somber music. The band did one show in Madrid, with Marduk,
Mystic Circle and Panchrysia. The show hasn't pauses and the band improvises,
filling the club with an intense bad vibration.
On 2006, the 7 new songs are completed and the band recorded
on Mantis studios again (this time on a multi track way) the new full length
entitled "Phantomgrave: I am the Catacombs". During the recording sessions,
F.Trych, Brown and Phlegeton decided to try to do the vocals, the result is
good. They talk with Ebola and the association ends. Ebola continues his work
with his band Cryfemal.
On April 2006, the band was on tour with Machetazo "The Unholy Week".
Actually the band is working in the new tracks for the 3rd album...
Phantomgrave: I am the Catacombs will be released on Jun 2007 through Ordo
Decimus Peccatum.
