Alafia....Baba Ola Jagun (vocals, talking drum) is a highly esteemed master drummer, teacher and ceremonial performer. He was born in Oka-Akoko in Ekiti State of Nigeria and trained in the heart of Yorubaland as a drummer and as a visual artist at Twin Seven-Seven's Cultural Center in Oshogbo. Baba Ola Jagun spent over ten years recording, performing and touring with the legendary AfroBeat creator, Fela Anikulapo Kuti's Egypt '80 Band.Now residing in New York City, Baba Ola Jagun and his group, The Ancestral Rhythms have focused his efforts on keeping the traditional rhythms of his homeland present and accounted for.
