. . , was born in the capital of Holland. With a mom and dad as performers she herself started to sing in front of audiences at the early age of 6. The first song she ever performed was written by her dad, titled “Mickey Mouse & Friendsâ€. From that moment, her goal was to be a famous singer who entertained and made people happy by using her voice.
During her childhood years she attended many contests winning several top prizes by performing songs of her biggest idols, such as Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, etc. Her talents caught the eyes of a Belgium Producer, as well as the then famous Radio538 DJ ‘Rob van Hees’, both of which lended their production talents to assist a.k. in her rise to stardom.
At the age of 18 she became one of the singers of the girl group ‘Kick’, signed to Dureco Records. As a member of ‘Kick’ a.k. recorded and was featured on two single releases, resulting in performances throughout the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium. After two years of success with Kick, a.k. went on to pursue a solo career. Under the guidance of the talented producer team ‘The Beat Freakz’, she recorded and performed a mixture of covers and original songs which landed her a recording contract with Corbeau-Arcade Records.
After a busy solo career a.k. was approached by the Beat Freakz once again, this time to be the leadsinger of a girl group they were forming called ‘Soca Girlz’. a.k. accepted the offer and recorded & released a cover of the US hit ‘Cha Cha Slide’. The Soca Girlz version with vocals by a.k., was a major chart topping success throughout Europe.
With the success of the Soca Girlz, a.k. performed for fans in countries throughout Europe & Asia, such as: The Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Belgium, Germany & Turkey.
Currently a.k. has been writing & producing songs herself. As a seasoned performer/entertainer, a.k. has the talent, skills and the knowledge to create music for today’s market. She has the passion and potential to hit the charts once again ensuring success not only for herself and the producers, but for the Record label as well.
