About Me

rewrite the book is about taking control of your own destiny when it's time to move on in your life. Be bold moving forward, be positive about the past - a simple messsage. A brief encounter leads to more than it should in midnight where passion and guilt collide. In tell me a story, Jo Robinson sings a haunting song about a woman who is mistreated by her partner and returns to find sanctuary in her parents' home. Obsession couldn't be more poignantly described than in the dark sound of still she sleeps.

This is a small selection of his many and varied songs from his eclectic electric world.

Keiran has been involved in several collaboration over the last few months. The results can be found on his FileFactory player on the left hand side of this page.

Keep a watch on his page - these songs don't hang around for long

Keiran is also writing with Sammon and some of the results can be heard at sizzling samosas .

The seven songs that I've collaborated with other people on in the last couple of months are:
rewrite the book: This is my song about moving on. David (of Postcard Comets) mastered (whatever that means) my final mix and created the three-dimensional sound that you can hear here.
tell me a story: This is a song that I wrote with a female vocalist in mind. When I heard Jo Robinson's voice, I heard a quality that I felt would enhance the song. Jo agreed to give it a go and sent me a file with a vocal on. Here is the result.
midnight: A song of mine that I sent to Postcard Comets to see if they fancied working on it. David and Buck started from scratch leaving only my vocal untouched. So everything else you hear on this track is them - including the harmonies, the engineering and production.
admire the view: Ardisalis had a piece up for review. It had no vocal and he asked if anyone might be interested in adding some words and a melody. The piece was called showdown and gave a nod to the Spaghetti Western. I didn't hear that when I wrote this tune and the lyric but we both liked the final outcome anyway.
dollywood dream: A good friend of mine, Susie Davison, was going through a bit of a rough patch and wrote a lyric asking me if I could set it to music. The words are an ironic tilt at her life at the time - actually, pretty literal. Whilst the words might be considered a little C&W I deliberately shied away from that genre, trying to make the song upbeat.
cat's eyes: I did this cover of Stuart Nicol's fantastic song in response to a request from the Acoustic Forum for myspace covers of myspace artist's songs. This and several other covers were released on an AF podcast.
share: Anyone who has heard drawler will know that he produces sparse but powerful pieces with compelling lyrics. I asked if he would mind if I arranged this song. He agreed, and trying to keep to the original sparse approach, I came up with this - with a lot of directorial input from the man himself.

I thought I'd let you into my head for a moment (you might want to get out pretty quick).  How to rhyme.   To write a lyric, first you need a writing implement (pen, computer etc) and secon...
