Hang the Dj !!
Well, my career as a DJ all started back in the early 90s in Nice, France. At that time, I was just mixing rockabilly and neo/psycho. But after some trips to England, I got an urge to try and reproduce the atmosphere in London and at the Hemsby rock'n'roll festivals at during the early-mid 90s, playing the classic sounds of the rockabilly fashion lifestyle, from rockers to strollers to boppers, etc.
Of course, I still play that old stuff now... but I'm happy to say that my mind is always open to other things. Blues has always been very important to me: T-Bone, Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, Ike Turner, Mickey Baker and anything on Excello, Chess/Checker, Modern/R.P.M, King/Federal, as well as the obscure labels. And not just late 50s - early 60s blues, soul and rhythm 'n' blues either!
I really feel that I have now found my personal identity as a DJ, playing a mix of the above, together with early Soul, Popcorn, Doo Wop, Gospel, Exotic and any kind of black rhythm, etc., and varying from famous to totally unknown artists. For a better idea of what I play, why not c heck out my jukebox?
OK... that's about it, folks !
