About Me

The origins of PLACE begin in September of 1998 when Daniel (guitars, synthesizers) met Sam (synthesizers). They eventually decided to have a shot at an idealistic commune-esque artistic society. Sadly, they found themselves without the means to build their utopia, so they compromised by developing experimental, often philosophically-driven music. As Andrew (synthesizers, vocals), Nick (bass), and Matt (drums) joined their sessions, PLACE decided to approach music from more accessible angles due to afear of pretentiousness. The result was an allegorical bit of synth-based post rock, played at high school happenings and finally at an infamous first show at ClubSAW in July 2003. This first show also marked the end of the first era, one would say. However, they regrouped in May 2004 (without Nick and Matt), when PLACE took to writing darker, yet less naive music and welcomed Katherine Saleria into the group, playing bass and synthesizer. They released 25 copies of a homemade ep titled Where We Meet With Our Apathy in February 2005. The second ep We Are So Little was released at Club SAW on July 22nd, 2006. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------PLACE is currently on hiatus indefinitely for a variety of reasons, but enjoyed the ride. ..

It was a great show, by our standards. There were a few screw-ups, all mine, but whatever. It went very well. The only problem was a slight lack of audience, but what can you really hope for at this s...
