The CUBS are winning.

About Me

Let me first explain what "KUYA" means (that is, if you're not Filipino). KUYA literally means big brother and that's pretty much what I am to everyone who knows me, even those who happen to be older than me. Over the years, the term has been extended to older male cousins and pretty much the oldest guy in your circle of friends and whoever is the older guy you know. So, even if you're not Filipino, you're more than welcome to refer to me as KUYA. I've learned to assume that role in everyone's lives. As you can see, I'm a big Chicago Cubs fan. Even before we moved to Canada in the 80s, I already knew who the Chicago Cubs were. So imagine the thrill of actually moving to Chicago and getting to see them close up at Wrigley. Like every year, I hope this is their year.Right now, I'm blessed to work at a great place in Dallas with a great bunch of people. We're still in the "Honeymoon" phase of my working there, but I hope it doesn't change too much.I'm super involved with my Church (Church of Christ-Iglesia Ni Cristo). I teach what would be the equivalent to Sunday School (which we call Children's Worship Service) and I've been doing that for about 10 years now. I also do video production for our Church's TV station, GEMnet TV as a producer and cameraman. On the personal level, I'm looking to produce offspring some time in the next few years. (I don't want my dad to throw out his back when he tries to pick up his grandson.) So, people ask me what I'm looking for. I tell them straight up: a white girl (and you can ask me about that later). But since that probably won't happen, I'll go for a halfer, or just a pale-skinned filipina girl.Just ask me about anything else you want to know.

My Interests

Although I haven't done it much, I would like to go hiking more often. Traveling is cool too.

I'd like to meet:

Ummm... Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Zambrano, Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, and the rest of the 2007 Chicago Cubs. Even Lou Pinella.I would also like to meet someone who could invent a device that can make any beverage ice cold (or close to it) in like five seconds. They could invent some sort of sleeve that would fit over your water bottle and flip a switch, and WHAMO! that bad boy is chilled to perfection. That would be totally awesome.

Music:

Depeche Mode, The Housemartins, The Cure, The Who, Engelbert Humperdink, Nas, Wu Tang and whatever else is on my Shuffle. (How ridiculous is that! I think I'm the only person in the world who is still using a Shuffle. Then again, I don't listen to too much music at one time.)

Movies:

I'm trying to get into the whole Korean/Japanese/Thai/Chinese movie thing. Filipinos don't make good movies right now.

Television:

24, CSI:NY, CSI:Miami, Heroes, Friday Night Lights, House (I watch too much TV). GEMnet TV.

Books:

JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis are good. I like the Bible a lot.

Heroes:

That's a good show too!

ATTENTION: Ugly Halls

Apparently, the aesthetic beauty of banquet halls and other such facilities are being called into question by some CWS teachers in their prayers.  Beware of offending any of them!
