The Pipers is a band that was created by Lead Guitarist Steve Somogyi in late 2004. The Original lineup was Steve (Lead Guitar), Carter Page(Vocalist/Guitar), and Nicholas Sprenger (Bass), but Carter and Nick decided to branch off and create a different band called KHAZM, due to artisitic differences. You can see their new band here http://www.myspace.com/khazmmetal. Steve then soon found newer members in the Algonquin area such as Tim Kubat on bass and Tyler Esterle on drums. The band didn't last long but Steve and Tim remained good friends. The band The Pipers was no longer around for about two years. In 2006, Steve was in an indie-acoustic band called The Diaries Of... with Mike Vinci (Lead Vocals, Backup Guitar) and Cody Knauer (Drums) You can see The Diaries Of... here http://www.myspace.com/thediariesof and Cody's band here http://www.myspace.com/pendingtheband. Steve felt that The Diaries Of... was a lot of fun but too mellow so he re-created The Pipers as a side-project with Tim Kubat on Bass and new friend as well as the progressive metal band Vallor's drummer, Elliott Turnbaugh, on Drums. Steve only played lead guitar in The Diaries Of... but was un-able to find a singer for The Pipers, so he decided to play guitar and sing in the band. With the new lineup of members and Elliott's powerful/original drumming style, The Pipers soon became more than just a side-project and more of a REAL band when people began really enjoying the music. Recently, Tim has become no longer a band member but a new member was added- Giana Casale. Giana brings not only diversity to the band but also her fun personality as well as her beautiful singing voice, piano playing and creativity. Giana Has taken over as lead vocalist which give The Pipers so much more to work with. A little after Giana joined, Mike Skrodzki, a good friend of Elliott's and the little brother of one of Steve's old friends, joined The Pipers as the new bassist. He brings his hard rock style and cool riffs to the band to make a solid bond between the drums and bass. The Pipers are Steve Somogyi (Lead Guitar), Elliott Turnbaugh (Drums/Percussion), Giana Casale (Lead Vocals/Piano), and Mike Skrodzki (Bass)!
