For the masses of friends/fans that have been waiting on the record, I can finally say that the wait is almost over. The full length record , "We Are Always In Winter", is being duplicated as well as being prepared to be on iTunes. A 20 page booklet is included for all of you iTunes buyers, and the physical record will be available soon to buy on www.umbrellaarmy.com. With that being said, the new website is in production and will be launched once the record is out to buy.
Umbrella Army will be playing some local shows in the coming months, but more importantly, the record is being pushed for TV/Film since it is such an emotional and soundtrack oriented work. The new songs uploaded on myspace are the final tracks, unfortunately being limited to 4 of the 13 songs on the new record. There is a lot of exciting things in the works, so continue to check back for details.
UMBRELLA ARMY BIO:
The uniquely eclectic mix of electronic, indie, orchestral and emotional additives gives the music of Umbrella Army a backbone of sonic brilliance.
After six years of being a part of the great Dallas band, Radiant, Jonathan Schoemaker left the band in the spring of 2006 to pursue his own musical vision with the moniker of Umbrella Army. In the middle of the writing and recording process calamity struck. In December of 2006, Jonathan’s family suffered a great loss to cancer. A couple months passed, and the calamity unbelievably struck for a second time and another family member was diagnosed with the late stages of cancer. It was out of the fear and reality of loss that birthed many more songs, and the underlying theme of the full length record was molded into an undeniable surge of emotion and soul depth.
The new record “We Are Always In Winter” takes you on a self explorative journey of hidden feeling with the allowance of getting lost and found again by the end of the sixty minute LP. The sobering lyrics and soul felt melodies of “Time Bomb”, “Forget”, “Pass Our Last Goodbye” and “My Soul’s Lung” navigates through the fear of loss and allows closure in the brokenness and orchestral serenity felt in “We Will Sleep Tonight”, “Rewind The Night” and “I Am A Broken Machine”. Umbrella Army narrates a compelling visual soundtrack that captivates all emotion with valiant force.
