Self taught drummer from Nantes, France, Basile Ferriot has been involved with improvised music since 1998.
He delivers an arid and minimal music from a small set of percussions (custom snare drum, cymbal, metals and other objects), amplified and sampled live, influenced by industrial, noise and musique concrete as well as the recent reductionnist approaches in improvised music.
He has participated in many projects, including Ocephale collective (APO33 now defunct workshop, Otokan (with John Morin and Carine Lequyer) and Ferrailles ( duo with tabletop/electro freak Olivier Di Placido) and has played with Jérôme Noetinger, Xavier Charles, Martin Tétreault, Fabrice Eglin, Jean-Phillipe Gross, Ferran Fages, Toshihiro Koike…
He now lives in Paris and works steadily with Jassem Hindi (Kelvin Zero) and Christine Sehnaoui.
Influences: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, her friends and her ennemies.
