About Me

I've been ripping it up since before I can remember walking. Okay, so maybe not before walking but I've been going extreme for a long friggin time. I was born in New York but don't really remember much about it. My pops was transferred to Hawaii (crying for me now, aren't you?) and I learned to surf. I did it all day and night because you live in Hawaii - that's what you do. I was just a little kid so it wasn't like I was giving the North Shore dudes a run for the money or anything, but the locals learned me some serious skills. Those people are born in the ocean and my buddy laughed his ass off when I landed in coral and shredded my leg. I was only like ten and needed a buttload of stitches and all he could say was next time don't hit the reef. We were only stationed there for a little while and ended up in Colorado next. NO FREAKIN WAVES THERE BRO! Next best thing was snow. Put my skills onto the mountain and did the snowboard thing. It was killer the first time I caught serious air. I was so hooked. The only thing that screwed me up was that the first year I was learning to snowboard, I broke my wrist in a punk move when I landed stupid. It took a LOT of bargaining to get moms to let me board again, but whatever. She eventually gave in after I told her I'd already been sneaking up on the mountain for like a month - even before my cast was off. I wouldn't say I was a difficult child, I prefer spirited. When the snow would go away, I hit the mountain with a bike and me and my friends would race down. That was pretty cool. I was really getting used to the life there when we got stationed in Cali. My dad did his last tour here and then we stayed. I love the weather out here cause I did what you'd expect and got my ass onto a skateboard (and started a band, but that's another story.) I've broken a few more bones and nearly given my mother a heart attack a few times but I'm still in one piece (be it with a few pins here and there). It's in my blood. I feel like I can't breathe without that adrenaline rush. I'm pumping my way through the amateur circuit and hope to go pro someday. At the moment I'm laid up with a seriously bruised hip and few cracked ribs. Whatever. Mark my words, someday you'll see me there! It's all about the love and as long as I'm breathing I'll be riding.
