"A voice will do as it believes"

About Me

Performance Poet - Who knew? Until July 2005 Leo had never been moved enough to actually get on stage. Since that time he has competed in numerous local fund raisers, competitions and slams. His first regular performance stage was Soulicitations, a stage that he helped develop at his home church. He then found himself moving on to be co-host of Speakeasy, the long standing stage of Faye Sikora. FreeThought in conjunction with Platinum Productions then went on to help establish TAWC (The Alaska Writing Collective) and to host a six month standing youth slam "Stage II" at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art as well as teaching a workshop entitled "Writing as a Weapon". At the completion of that project "FreeThought" then moved on to developing a creative writing program for youth and is diligently working to get it implemented into the schools. A kid at heart himself, Trey enjoys working with kids, educating not only their minds but encouraging their imaginations. "If you can think it, it is possible"Spoken word has opened many doors in this young performers life and he has had the pleasure of working with many talented artists and community professionals, Corinna Delgado, Kima Hamilton, Faye Sikora, Shihan: The Prototype, Gabriella Medina, Joe Francisco, April Karper, Ashoki Rutledge, Kokayi Nosakhere and Ma'o Tosi just to name a few.FreeThought quickly realized that spoken word coupled with music gave his words a different feel. He then ventured out to start creating his own sound. His music will take you on a journey, if you will just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.FreeThought has published 3 books: Good words from that guy with the towel, Heads or Tails and Remix the Invention. He has also produced two CD's: Soundtrack of my Life vol. 1 and Remix the Invention. FreeThought has new stuff in the mix all of the time.FreeThought has also taken the umbrella of DBD a step further by not only performing, but by allowing his humorous personality to reign on the Mic as co-host of Spoken Words. He inherited the nickname "That guy with a towel" because he always has one, and for those that have seen him on the Mic know why. He is also known for wearing Tshirts that he designed. Even with all that he strives to do in the spoken word community he does not take lightly his duties as a father and devoted husband. This loving father of two beautiful children already has a son eager to follow in daddy's footsteps as he has graced the Mic at the age of four with his freestyle flow.Trey has a love for words, a thirst for knowledge and the desire to teach. He is prepared for the journey ahead. Thank you for your support.
