The Beat Bums -Two of L.A...s most prominent solo up-and-coming M.C.s come together to form the new super group The Beat Bums. The Beat Bums recently formed in the summer of 2006, when old friends BenYomen and Morb One finished their first musical collaboration. The rhyme-chemistry felt between the two was undeniable, so it was only a matter of days before the two approached each other to work on this project. The Beat Bums have been hard at work spreading the word up and down the California coast and throughout Arizona since the group formed just three months ago.BenYomen has been standing strong in the underground hip hop community since 2001. He has been featured in articles in various publications and websites (both national and international) including Billboard magazine, Laist.com, Jive magazine, The Valley Scene, Erasoul.com and many more. He has been performing live shows since 1999 and rapping since 1995. His performing ventures range across California, through Arizona, Texas, and Colorado, and soon around the world. This year alone, BenYomen has rapped on over 50 stages and has reached the ears of college radio listeners on over 75 stations in both the U.S. and Canada. He has opened for artists such as The Living Legends, Glue, Young Blood Brass Band, and P.O.S., just to name a few. His old group D.V.ayshun was featured on The Vans Warped Tour. His discography consists of two self-released solo full-length albums, one 12.. record/E.P., and two CD demos that were made during his high school years, and he is featured on over 10 compilations/mix-tapes.Morb One has been rapping as long as anyone can remember (predates 1994). He was the resident host for 1 2 Productions and Chinkey Eyed Fridays at the pinnacle points of both promotion companies. He performed on the Continental Drift Tour with The Visionaries, Typical Cats, and The Beat Junkies. He was on the L.A. Underground Veterans Tour as well as many other quality line-ups and tours, which have earned him the reputation of one of L.A...s greatest freestyle M.C.s. He has played shows and won battles across the West Coast. Morb One..s discography consists of one self-released full-length CD and one 12.. record/E.P.The Beat Bums.. live set consists of both BenYomen and Morb One on the vocals with DJ Stereotype and Elephant Gerald on two turntables, two mixers, two beat machines, and various guitar pedals, playing all beats in real time. DJ Stereotype has played at the Coachella Music Festival and The Vans Warped Tour, and he DJ..s for other hip hop artists from the LifeForTheBetter Collective.
