RASROOTS LONG AWAITED ALBUM WILL BE IN STORES FEBRUARY 28 BE SURE TO GRAB A COPYRasRoots was born on the island of St. Kitts, and grew up in a small village called Trafalga. Being brought up in a christian household made him realized thats not the path in life he wanted to take. Growing up in St. Kitts and attending junior high school he realized that nothing was going to happen for him unless he made it happen.
At the age of 15 he moved to New York, with his sister, to live with his mother, where he started reading about His Imperial Majesty, Rasta and Marcus Masiah Garvey and decided that this is the rightful path to life, it's simplicity.
In 1999 he graduated from Parkwest High School in New York. After a few months of being out of school he wanted to further his education in computer networking, so in 2000 he attended the New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island.
While attending college he met a bredren from the island of St. Martin by the name of Ras Ashandi who let him listen to the liquid riddim and told him to voice tune for him. After voicing the tune Ashandi told him he had a gift and should pursue a music to teach the massive of the people. So he took the advice and started writing music more, performing at local clubs, and sparing with rasta bredren Ital-fire where the passion for music grew more.
As a rastaman he sticks to the scriptures and stays true to rastafari teachings which is where he get his inspirations, love and the ability to speak the words of wisdom.
"Never let your knowledge go unheard,
if you have something to say let it be heard.
Words powers and sounds, BOOM dem down,
from that you hold your ground."
Since being within the music fraternity Rasroots formed a group with his bredrens that he is around and they call themselves:
"FOUNDATION YARD FAMILY"
