Dj Mash Up was to be introduced to Djing for the first time in the early 90s. At the time he was 12 years old and had began to have a small taste of the Hip Hop culture by listening to rap tapes and watching hip hop videos. However, his true love in this newly introduced way of life, was to be DJing.
Originally from Guadeloupe, the young man was also being influenced by the new hot tunes of the islands: Reggae Dancehall. The second love story was beginning.
But as the French proverb states, “aint no two without a three”; soon enough Soca was burning up the streets and DJ Mash Up’s third love was finally revealed to him. His three first and only loves would soon fuse to provide us today with his intoxicating mixes.

During his beginnings in 1998, a young man who had fallen under the spell of the magical beats of the young Mash Up, began frantically banging on the wall screaming in Creole “dj ou ka mash up!!!” baptizing the grand DJ we know today.
More than 10 years later, now that dancehall has become a worldwide phenomenon and with the birth of Crunk, DJing has become a true challenge. If DJ Mash Up is where he is today it is only thanks to him and how he has kept it real, keeping his initial state of mind: crowd-pleasing but innovative. When originality, authenticity, passion, and true talent come together, as they have in DJ Mash Up, there can be no other result but extraordinary….
