About Me

Who am I?Writer, photographer, promoter of Fly, and London promoter of Home Of La Troya Ibiza, Gorgeous Ibiza and Space Ibiza. And, for the summer of 2007, I've been asked to help out with the promotion of Gorgeous Ibiza at legendary superclub Space... Expect schizophrenia to reign as I juggle three profiles throughout the summer! What do I do?Go clubbing... and way too often. Prefer Ibiza to London, though that may be because it's a tad more pleasant to stagger out of a sweaty nightspot and into the glaring heat of the white isle's noonday sun, than to find myself faced by the hideous reality that is Vauxhall or Shoreditch on a Monday morning. Started promoting Ibiza parties in London in 2005, and brought Space (big club, huge speakers, lots of lights and DJs...), La Troya and Gorgeous to London, and also launched a new night called Fly. If you missed the 2005 parties, check out the following videos:Space Ibiza London with Factor 25 and Gorgeous Ibiza (28 May 2005)La Troya Asesina London with Latinaires and Fly (25 June 2005)Fly @ Hidden (5 November 2005)Increasingly uninspired by London's gay scene, I instead found a new spiritual path at parties such as NastyDirtySexMusic, Size (with Steve Angello, Axwell and the rest of the Swedish mafia) and Nude at Ministry of Sound, the Bora-Bora (with Danny Tenaglia) and Carl Cox events at Heaven, Cocoon at The End (Sven, you are a god), and the very very interesting Very Very Very Wrong Indeed at Turnmills. Also been discovering the joys of Whoresditch and Shoxtown, especially T Bar, Café 1001, Sosho and the infamous toilet...Missed a lot of London parties during the summer of '06, as I 'had' to go back to Ibiza for Space's opening party on the 4th June... And DC10's opening party the next day... And the Amnesia, Cocoon, La Troya, Gorgeous, Scandal, Matinée Group, Manumission and We Love opening parties... And all the closing parties and everything in between... Okay, so I didn't miss London that much! Nights out, days out, and occasional trips to La-La land.Having gone to almost all the opening parties in Ibiza, I returned home to London mid-July in order to avoid the silly season (anything that coincides with the school holidays turns into over-priced hell-on-earth on the otherwise blessed sun-kissed rock...), returning first for my birthday, which stretched to ten days of white isle partying (flew out for two days, stayed for ten nights, got into so much trouble when I finally returned), and then again for a closing party marathon, which started with Cocoon, and kept me occupied (almost) every day until Bora-Bora pulled down its shutters for the winter! If you look closely at this video of the SPACE CLOSING PARTY 2006 (from Space TV) , you should be able to spot me as I was there for about 14 or 15 hours... I'm the one wearing the cheap shades and the ill-fitting hat (to hide the Home Of La Troya closing party hair don't). Special mention to Monza for being the most pleasant surprise of the summer, and my new favourite club for 2007.If you picked up any of the free copies of DJ Mag while in Ibiza, I wrote the Gay Ibiza columns and the Matinée Group article. Feel free to write to the editors and recommend that they hire me full time!My return to London coincided with the return of both Fly , and Home Of La Troya (as La Troya's now known) for its first-ever Halloween shindig.Though Fly didn't respond well to a midweek night, Home Of La Troya Halloween was a huge success leading in turn to La Troya's first Xmas party....HOME OF LA TROYA XMAS HANGOVER at MINISTRY OF SOUND on Saturday 30th December was the busiest party in London that night, with BABY MARCELO performing live alongside Home of La Troya and We Love Space resident DJ OLIVER, and La Troya's London residents ARIEL, MARK WESTHENRY, STEVEN BLACK, ALEX CELLER and LOUIS GUILHEM, and very special guests MIGUEL PELLITERO, HARJ and JON DENNIS! It was a VERY special Xmas! And at Ministry... How cool is that!Add me to your list of MySpace friends, or email me at [email protected] , if you want to be the first in line for the next London event.Martin
