About Me

I'm Lorenzo Cordova, welcome to the big show.

R-B-T-V CHEER

By Awesome RBTV Intro Producer/RB16 Producer Who Wishes Not To Be Identified For Fear Of Sex Predators
"Black color bars black!"
We do it on tape, and we're set to go!
The bus is here for CTEC, so come on guys lets go!
Hometown Video Awards,
And P-S-A's,
We kick major butt, so watch us today.
You wont believe it,
But open your eyes,
R-B-T-V, has all the hot guys.
Lorenzo? No! Svoboda? Yes....
Not really, they're all pests!
Prokes and Sarkady try to run the class,
But they got no control,
Cuz we always leave the class.
Donuts and bagels,
Make up our days,
But shoot edit broadcast,
And you'll be on your way!
If you can actively read, then you already know that my name is Lorenzo Cordova, I'm 17 years old and I hail from Riverside, a tiny suburb a few minutes west of Chicago, Illinois.
Currently, I am a senior at Riverside Brookfield High School, which means that college looms near on the horizon. Next year, I plan on attending Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois to study television writing/production. If all goes well, I will be a student there in fall of 2008.
ABOUT ME! I honestly have no way of describing myself. For other people this is easy--they will write about their personalities, beliefs, etc. in this section with ease. I find it challenging. Really, I guess, only people who meet me can tell what kind of person I am.
What I can tell about myself is that I'm a media junkie. Anything media-related interests me, whether it be television, radio, print publications, and/or the Internet. It all fascinates me, and I have a strange fondness for it. Media is my passion--it always has been and it always will be.

I have been a part of RBTV, the cable television network of Riverside Brookfield High School since my freshman year, and I have grown and changed with the station during my four year tenure as a producer. As of this year, I have achieved the status of RBTV Senior Producer. If you live in the viewing area of RBTV and you have Comcast cable, flip to channel 16 and you may see a television program or film that I or one of my MANY fellow producers have created, produced, written, and/or directed. If you do not live in the viewing area, you can still watch RBTV, anywhere in the world, by logging to the RBTV website, WWW.RBTV.TV . Most recently I was entertainment stage television co-director for RBTV's annual Riverside Brookfield Educational Foundation Telethon, and currently I am executive producer/director of HealthLine. HealthLine is a medically-focused television talk show series that I created in 2006, and it is currently sponsored by Loyola University Health System.

I am also in my second term as Editor-in-Chief of Clarion, the school newspaper of Riverside Brookfield High School. Under my editorship Clarion has grown progressively from a monthly newspaper to a bi-monthly newspaper, and, most recently, to a weekly newspaper. This year the Clarion staff is working towards achieving a goal of publishing 34 issues of Clarion, something that is unprecedented in the whole history of the publication. For more information on the Clarion, as well as how to subscribe to receive all of the 2007-2008 issues, please visit WWW.RBHS208.ORG/CLARION/CLARION.HTM .

I am part of the newspaper, not just because of my love of media, but also because, I am a passionate writer. Writing has been a passion of mine since junior high school when my then-best friend, Connor Short, introduced me to the art of writing. We used to write "novels" based on video games we played and sometimes we created stories of our own. Doing that furthered my latent interest in writing, and I found outlets for my writing in English classes as well as Clarion in later years. I have evolved from a very immature and inexperienced writer to a somewhat higher level writer, but I still have much room to improve my skill.

For now, this is all I have to say. I'm very long-winded when it comes to telling stories, and I forget that people have better things to do than read my life's story on MySpace. So, go. Play in the sandbox, fly a kite, ride a bike, or organize a game of dodgeball.
If you have any questions for me, though, leave me a message, add me as a friend and comment me, or simply send me an instant message.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone in my heroes section that I haven't met yet, those are the people I'd most like to meet. Also, people that I have not spoken to in a long time. I may have forgotten some of the people in my past, but if you still remember me, don't be shy. If you used to know me at any point in our lives but we lost touch, please talk to me. There are many people that I used to know that moved away or stopped attending the same school as I.

Overall, I'd like to meet people who are interested in what I'm interested. I want to meet people that I can actually have a decent conversation with and maybe form a friendship with in the future. So, if you're a nerd, you're welcome to talk to me, I guess.

Generally, though, I'll talk to anyone who'll talk to me. New people have a tendency to open my eyes to new interests and life paths.

That being said, don't be shy. Give me a holler if you want to talk. My contact info is up above. If you see me in the halls at school, feel free to say, 'hi.'

Heroes:

Heroes, for me, don't wear capes and shoot fire with their eyes. Everyone, as NBC's hit drama Heroes has shown us, can be a Hero. It doesn't matter what color you are, what your beliefs are, or what you look like. What matters is what's in your brain. If you believe you can be a Hero, and you act in a way that is helpful and generous to your fellow man, then you are a Hero in my eyes.
