About Me

I am a self-proclaimed nerd whose interests include, but are not limited to, the following: Traveling, when I can afford it. Movies and television that posses quality creative production values. Reading fascinating works of fiction. Cooking and eating delicious food. Watching an array of sports on Sundays. And last but not least, naps. I am extremely independent, honest, and sarcastic to a fault. However, I would like to become a more motivated, compassionate, eloquent, and courageous individual.I hate the phone. And if I don’t answer it is in no way a reflection upon my feelings for the person, but instead my contempt for phones in general.I am currently engaged with my plans for the future. Said plans consists mainly of my collecting pencil shavings to use for building a giant woodchip nest in the cardboard box I will inevitably call home. But that's neither here nor there...

My Interests

-I love air hockey. Real hockey, no, not so much. But air hockey is the game of gods...I can just imagine Apollo and Zeus enthralled in a rousing game of air hockey. Though Apollo would always have to let Zeus win because, well, he's Zeus. AND -Getting a basset hound and naming it Pavlov... Yes.By the way, "Glitter Graphics" are the bane of my existence.

I'd like to meet:

Charlie Chaplin, Kevin Aucoin, Clarence Greenwood, Conan O'Brien, Edgar Wright, Lon Chaney, Bryan Fuller, Alton Brown, Paula Dean, and Tony Cochran.

Music:

I'm not "hip" or "with it" or whatever the kids say these days... I listen to the oldies and musicals.

Movies:

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Shaun of the Dead, Disney's animated version of Robin Hood, City Lights, Psycho... And, last but not least, the first two Back to the Future movies which triggered my love for Michael J. Fox at the tender age of 7.

Television:

Currently I like the food network... Yes, the whole network. Particularly: Good Eats, Paula’s Home Cooking, & Ace of Cakes.I also love: NBC's The Office, Boston Legal, Pushing Daisies, Project Runway, Top Chef, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Friday Night Lights, Dexter, Extras, Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development, Wonderfalls, Firefly, and the BBC version of The Office.

Books:

Anything by Michael Crichton or Edgar Allen Poe -Lord of the Flies by William Golding -The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury -A Light in the Attic & Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein -Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola -Angels and Demons by Dan Brown -The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini -The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling -Agamemnon by Aeschylus -King Dork by Frank Portman -Anthem by Ayn Rand and -Wicked by Gregory Maguire

Heroes:

Reading provides me with an internal laugh track

It has been a few weeks since I finished my last literary obsession, King Dork by Frank Portman.  This was a really quick read with an intriguing story line for anyone who ever felt like a "dork...
