My Interests

The one MC people are always asking after is you, so, why did you leave the scene? And what made you decide to return?I never really left the scene; I took time away to get back to my education, as well as working with various artists in the studios. I was only 14 when I first became a big MC so it was important for me to get some sort of grades, so now it’s like I have to get back 2 MCing again cos music is in my blood. Why are you calling yourself TECH3-MC now?Where this cat took the name Scratchmaster Techno Kid when I was missing. I was like let him have it. At times you need a change and this was it. When I met Roni, Die & Krust and done Keystone Cops that was it. I gone back to my old school back 2 my roots cos Tech3-mc was my 1st mc name Scratchmaster Techno Kid is still my a.k.aGoing right back to the beginning, how did you get into the scene?Firstly all I remember was going to all the free parties, free Spiral Tribe parties, and many warehouse parties that was going on around the UK, it just came natural to me I just picked up the MIC said a couple bars, the people loved it, and that's where it all began for me.Where was your 1st gig? Who helped you along the way? Who gave you inspiration? My very first legal gig was at Fantasia in Bournemouth. A Dj called Ram Jack from Bath Avon and Robbie Dee from Planet Earth were the two main people who helped me along my journey in the underground scene. Mc Conrad, Steve Hyper D RIP, Dj Roni Size, Dj Derrick May, Bassman, and Dancehall Artist Sizzla were the people in the music industry who inspired me. And last but not least the ravers inspired me the most. What do you think are your best qualities as an MC?My best qualities as an Mc are entertain the ravers and being able to give them what they want which is having a good time and being able to adapt to all different types of music. I like to experiment….Did all that scratching with your voice give you a sore throat? No, not at all the juices were always going round.Do you write lyrics down? What are your fav lyrics?Recently I have, Roni Size will tell you I'm lazy. And that's why I made a return on the scene because I have been hard at work and I’m ready to take it from the top. My favourite lyrics are written by Bob Marley on the track 'Who the Cap Fits' and Roni Size - Bump'n'Grind feat. Sweet PeaSo is it all about Dnb for you now? Or do you still like your Old Skool?I love the whole dance scene from hardcore, techno-trance, house to break beat and drum'n'bass and rap. I still got a open mind.Who’s your fav Dj to MC to?It depends on what mood I’m in but Sy, Carl Cox & Dj Die are up top.And is there anyone you’d like to MC for? That's a hard one its cross between Fat Boy Slim and Derick May 'in' Detroit "HINT" "HINT"What's you favourite all time tune?Long Dark Tunnel, that tune was BIGAnd worst and why?The ones when you loose on a game. Cos you got to start again.Ever fancied doing the Dj side of things?? Can you mix?I love mixing it down that's going to be one of my a.k.aBest event you played?Fantazia Bournemouth, it was the light show "wicked"Favourite promoter?Murray, RIP & Gideon and those dudes at Cream [hint hint] and Slammin Vinyl. If you had a time machine what year would you go back to and why?Not a year just 20mins ago. Before I did this interview! The early 90’s where mad times, any special memories of back then?My son Darnel was born. What are your memories of MCing at previous Fantazia events? As I said it's the light shows they were great. And that tune ‘got to keep the fire burning’ come on you no that's a tune!Any shouts or a message for the ravers?Shouts to Charmaine & her sis lady Marga [Basement Jaxx] massive attack, big up DJ KRUST, RONI SIZE AND DJ DIE for Keystone Cops, BECKY FROM FULL CYCLE, GQMC, ic3, Grooverider, Fabio, Food-Junky, Sy, MC-Darisson, Raff-star6000, all the Fabric London crew and any one that I met on this journey, I'm back and I'm not looking to go no where hola @ your boy the REAL SCRATCHMASTER TECHNO KID a.k.a TECH3-MC
