.. After trekking through Nepal to Everest Base Camp last year and climbing up Kala Pathar at 5545 meters (the most amazing and hardest thing I have ever done in my life - trying to climb a mountain with 47% oxygen is a near-impossible feat) I've just returned from some snowboarding time at Turoa, Mt Ruapehu on the south island of New Zealand. Now I've got the bug in my system and I'm contemplating thoughts of travel back there for the rest of the snow season (October and November) and then onto a northern hemisphere winter somewhere, Norway, Alaska, Canada or USA? Who knows but one thing is certain, I definitely feel at home among the mountains and memories of being amongst the world's biggest snow-capped peaks for days on end are drawing me back to the mountains once again...
